New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings
Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Well, folks, it's go time. . .time to see what this team is made of.
Time to see if this team really IS a serious contender.
Time to see if Brad Childress can coach with the big boys.
And I think our boys come through.
Gonzo's Final Score Prediction: Vikings 23, Patriots 20
SKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL VIKINGS!!

Here's hoping for a big turnout!

One to make Indianaslim happy
So, for the first time in a few years, there will be a Carter in the purple and gold at the Metrodome. Here's hoping for similar results. (-:

Coin Toss
Let the ass-whipping commence.

Patriots driving
The pass D really needs to tighten up.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 7:45 PM CST reply actions
Touchdown, Patriots.
That's really not the way to start.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 7:46 PM CST reply actions
Patriots' Scoring Drive
7-0, Patriots, 11:07 left in the first quarter.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 7:48 PM CST reply actions
Taylor - 2 carries, -1 yard
3rd and 11 from the New England 41.

Punted away
Now, let's see if the defense decides to show up for this drive.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 7:57 PM CST reply actions
Sharper!
1st and 10, Vikings.

Vikings Driving

Terrible INT by Brad.
End of the first quarter. . .7-0, Patriots.

Looked to me...

Patriots shredding the Vikings
Penalties, and lack of tackling ability, are killing this team tonight.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:18 PM CST reply actions
Vikings hold the Pats to a FG
12:09 left until halftime.
If the Vikings' defense doesn't pick it up REAL fast, it's going to get REAL ugly.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:21 PM CST reply actions
Oye...
I am pulling for ya Purple People Eaters... maybe that is why.
:(
by Marked Hoosier on Oct 30, 2006 8:30 PM CST up reply actions
And another terrible pass by Brad
Friggin' incredible. Johnson looks like ass out there.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:32 PM CST reply actions
Defense holds
If the Vikings think they're going to be in this game, they should probably think about scoring soon.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:35 PM CST reply actions
And we go three and out
10-0, Patriots, 5:05 left before halftime.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:39 PM CST reply actions
Just getting pummeled
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:46 PM CST reply actions
Make it stop...
Theisman is always wrong about the plays, and Kornheiser says stupid absolutes.
Make the hurting stop!!!
by Marked Hoosier on Oct 30, 2006 8:51 PM CST up reply actions
Clock slowly winding down
We need to hold them to 3 to have any chance.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:52 PM CST reply actions
So, of course. . .
9 yard pass from Brady to Watson and the XP makes it 17-0.
11 plays, 74 yards on the scoring drive.
17-0, Patriots, :25 left until halftime.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 8:55 PM CST reply actions
And, mercifully, it's halftime
They've already given up more yards AT HALFTIME than their PER GAME average for the season.
Pathetic. Just pathetic.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:01 PM CST reply actions
And the Vikings' offense stalls again
Again, we're on the wrong end of an ass-kicking.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:22 PM CST reply actions
Are we not men? We are MEMO!!
71 yards for the score.
17-7, Patriots, 10:36 left in the 3rd quarter.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:29 PM CST reply actions
ok...
I blame Kornheiser.
by Marked Hoosier on Oct 30, 2006 9:31 PM CST up reply actions
Way to piss that momentum away
Lovely.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:31 PM CST reply actions
And, sure as hell
3 plays, 21 yards in 1:33. Brady to Troy Brown for the TD.
24-7, Patriots, 9:03 left in the third quarter.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:34 PM CST reply actions
Why are we still running play-action?
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:39 PM CST reply actions
Questionable call
Bad call, IMO, but what can you do?
Vikings fail to convert on 4th down, and New England gets the ball back.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:48 PM CST reply actions
Turnover!
Nice job by Fred Smoot, of all people.
Belichick is having this reviewed. . .watch it get overturned.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:52 PM CST reply actions
And, of course. . .
Three and out for the Vikings.
Nice return by Kevin Faulk, too. Things just keep getting worse for Minnesota.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 9:58 PM CST reply actions
And just to slam the stake in a little further. .
31-7, New England, :05 left in the third quarter.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 10:01 PM CST reply actions
Johnson keeps getting worse
Shame that we don't have a real NFL-caliber backup to put into the game in Brad Johnson's place.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 10:12 PM CST reply actions
Bollinger in for Johnson
If Bollinger does well, I can't wait for the impending QB controversy.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 10:14 PM CST reply actions
Marcus Johnson is still terrible
Absolutely incredible.

In the NFC...
Any one of the Vikes, Eagles, Cowboys, Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Seahawks, & Rams need only to step up and play consistent football and they can win a division or a wildcard easy.
Then there's the basement teams like Detroit, San Fran ect...
With all due respect, Jason
We've got NO shot at the division title. . .and after the way we've played tonight, I'm not sure how much chance we have at a wild card, either.
Sad. . .I was so optimistic this morning. . .now I couldn't have done more of a 180.
by Christopher Gates on Oct 30, 2006 10:39 PM CST up reply actions
They won't win the division
But the wildcard? Why not? What other team has really shown anything? The Saints looked like they might separate themselves from the pack, but were blown out yesterday AT HOME... Other than the Giants and Bears it's wide open.
ouch, Bollinger INT in the end zone with a huge return as I type this...
This one's over, folks
We have zero offensive touchdowns tonight. The MeMo punt return was our lone "offense" this evening.
And Matt Cassell is in at QB. Yep. . .it's officially over.
