Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

More News? Yes!

First things first. . .we're no longer the newest addition to SBNation's football family. That distinction goes to our home for all things Kansas City Chiefs, Arrowhead Pride. Stop on by and have a look!

A couple more stories from the Great White North on this Thursday night.

The first is that the Vikes have signed WR Dez White to a contract. Not sure about the terms of the deal. Man, now we're going to have to redo the receiving leader poll.

Wait. . .no, we don't.

White's career numbers aren't that spectacular. . .in 6 seasons, he has 187 catches, 2149 yards (11.5 ypc) and 10 TD. The pessimist in you probably looks at those stats and says, "Man, this guy's worthless." While the optimist probably looks at those stats and says, "Well, think of what the guy's had to work with at QB for 6 years." Eh. . .if nothing else, he provides another body for training camp.

Second, it appears we have some info about the numbers on Chad Greenway's contract, per KFFL:

Vikings | Greenway signed

Updating previous reports, Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings signed rookie LB Chad Greenway, a first-round draft choice, to a five-year, $10.75 million deal. He receives a $1.35 million roster bonus and is due a $5.11 million option bonus that is guaranteed next spring. He will receive $1 million through bonus money by achieving a minimum playing time clause in any of his first four seasons. Not including the playing time bonus, he'll earn $6.145 million in guarantees and could earn another $2.5 million in escalators.

Please. . .someone try to tell me that Rob Brezinski isn't the best damn cap guy in the business.

I've got something that I could throw out here. . .but I'll save it for tomorrow or sometime over the weekend.

Dez White
was called a great practice player by a former coach. There you go. Not worth a damn during a game but in practice he's great.
