Vikings Go Down Swinging; Lose to Broncos 22-19 in OT

Well, the season is over, folks. . .the Vikings fell to .500 with a hard-fought loss in Denver to the Broncos, 22-19.  The result of the Redskins/Cowboys game made this a lot easier to take, and it was nice to see the Vikings not roll over like they could have after getting down 19-3.  I'll get to the post-mortem on this game tomorrow.

It's time to start looking forward to 2008, folks, and that's exactly what we'll spend part of this week doing.  Then, it's on to hardcore draft prep.

Have a good one, ladies and gentlemen.

When it comes down to it...
Troy Williamson proved he could still not catch the ball, and T-Jack proved he could the lead the team on two quick drives when the game was on the line down the length of the field. Yes, he fumbled at the end. Considering we wouldn't have even gotten that far if we hadn't gotten the two touchdowns in the first place, I'm willing to look past it. And the various defenses of the league now understand that Adrian Peterson is a threat, so expecting further 250 yd games will be tough. Until T-Jack proves that he can demolish a team with the pass, they're going to put 8 or 9 men in the box when AD is on the field. And as good as he is, that's still hard to run against.

There are people I don't expect to see on the team next year. Dwight Smith, Darrion Scott, and Troy Williamson are the three I'm looking at. The DSes from their behavior off the field, and Troy Williamson from his inability to catch on the field.

And that's enough of the armchair QBing for me this year. Here's to an 11 - 5 record next year.

It's going to be a LONG Off season again
I was only able to see part of the game.  the first part and was truly dissappointed, mostly at Williamson.  I give up hope on him and also hope that he gets cut right away.  I thought T-Jack was plying pretty well.  If Williomson would have caught the deep ball and a couple first down catches it would have been a different outcome.  The first drive with Chester running all over them had me pumped up until the fumble.  Oh well, I guess that they just aren't ready for Prime Time yet.  I am still not sold on BC's playcalling.  We have to threaten with deeper passes early on.  I am going to let it go for now....... Happy New Year Everybody,  Jim
