SI's NFC Questions...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/bucky_brooks/05/10/personnel.questions/1.html

Take a look at what he says about us, I can def. see where he is coming from but at the same time I am hopefully that the shoes will be filled by our WR corps. We can use the 1-2 running game and let our younger WRs get into the groove and hopefully with TW getting some glasses he can catch now. What are your guys' thoughts on what was said in the article?

TJ's success
Well he certainly makes the obvious point that we don't have a ton of proven WR help for TJ.  He must have graduated from college.

However, I think that he fails to take into account the kind of offense the the Vikings have under coach Childress.  It is one of the only Run-first offenses left in the league, and therefore the standards for determining Jackson's success as our QB are different then they are for most other teams in the NFL.  We won't expect him to throw for 300 yards and 2 TDs a game.  All we need him to do is be able to hit our speedy WRs for an explosive play now and then to keep the defense honest, keep turnovers to a minimum, and pick up a few first downs to keep our punishing runners on the field.

Combined with our stingy D, this will produce lower scoring games that we should be in control of in the 4th quarter when the opponent's D is too sore to bring down AD any longer.  So don't expect TJ to make the Pro Bowl, but I think he should give the Vikings the strong arm and explosiveness at QB that we lacked last year with Brad Johnson under center, albeit along with some "rookie" mistakes that he will have to get out of his system.

Can't be any worse then with Johnson!
Are we going to have any pro-bowl receievers this year? No of course not. But there is no reason the offense can't be at least respectable (which would be an improvement from last year).

Why can't Wade at least put up Taylor like numbers?

Why can't Shiancoe at least put up Wiggins like numbers?

Why can't Egg McMuffin become more involved?

Why can't Rice at least fill Marcus Robinson's roll?

If Jackson at least throws the ball 6 yrds on 3rd and 5 why can't we be at least a little improved?

If Williamson improves just a little, and with the addition of Peterson along with Chester, the offense will be better.
