Canal Street Chronicles Q & A

Hey guys, Saintsational from Canal Street Chronicles here! I'll give you guys a little update on the Saints and then let you guys ask your questions.

The Saints are coming off a very impressive 31-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. On offense, Drew Brees has just been lights out and is a legitimate candidate for MVP of the first quarter of the season. Deuce McAllister is finally back after knee surgery and looked good in his first real appearance last week. He will look to legitimize his comeback on Monday night. Though coming off a quiet game last week, Reggie Bush is looking more like his 2006 form. Don't get excited because Colston and Shockey are out because Robert Meachem, Lance Moore and Devery Henderson have all looked incredibly impressive and had big games on Sunday against the Niners.

On the other side of the ball, this defense is definitely improved. Don't look for any big passing plays like the ones that hurt the Saints all season last year. Mike McKenzie and rookie Tracy Porter have looked pretty good in the secondary. To make matters worse, first round pick Sedrick Ellis has already made an impact on the line along with Charles Grant and Will Smith and the Saints are coming off a six sack performance on Sunday. Jonathan Vilma's knee is great and he is happy to be back in a 4-3 as he leads the team in tackles so far this season.

I now open it up to any questions you guys might have. I will check back often to try and answer them. I will also let my readers know so they can give you guys input as well.

Goodluck to you guys on Monday.

Defending the run

How are the Saints at this? I am not as concerned about the Saint’s pass rush or secondary as we don’t really have had a passing game in the tenure of Brad Childress.

Kick returners

Who are your kick returners, what’s their average returns for kicks and punts, and are they healthy? Return coverage has seemed to be a weak point for the Vikes so far this season.

It may take a village to raise a child, but it takes a Viking to raze a village.
