Trying to understand Zygi's thinking...

Honestly, why the hell has Childress not been fired yet? I mean, it's not like he's actually winning these games, It's more the other teams losing than it is us winning.

I have been trying to figure out what's going on in Zygi's head for the past few weeks, and aside from him wanting the team to tank so fan outrage isn't high so he can move them is the only thing I can come up with. Childress' offense is horrible, and given the ammount of talent on this team (Especially the ones Zygi went and bought), he should be at LEAST 5-1 at this point. We are a few wrong calls from being 1-5... It's just... What the hell is he thinking?

No idea. As I was watching I was wondering why Childress still had his job too. The defense isn’t going to bail us out in every game. The only points we had in the entire first half were from a safety? (I loved that play though, what a moron. ) That’s utter bullshit. I mean, I know Peterson is good and all, but teams are keying in on him and we still hand him the ball a bunch of times. It’s like having him run into a brick wall.

I like Peterson as much as the next guy and want him to do well, but the playcalling is relying too heavily on him it seems.

I think the playcalling gets a lot better if...

I think it gets better if we decide to keep AP in on some Pass Protection, right now, when they see Peterson in the game they know it’s like 85% likely that it’s a handoff to him. If they See CT in there, they know it’s most likely going to be a pass. We just need to change that shit up a little bit. Ya know? Throw with Peterson in the game, go to a 2 HB set on first down and throw the ball. If we can confuse them as to what’s going on, they will NOT be able to just sit there and know exactly what we’re calling.

screens please

We used to run the screen with Moe Williams all the time, please thow one to AP or Chester. they sacked us 4 timesrushing 3 or 4 all day, wow McKinney is terrible, and our full back ? I thought his job was to block , not wiff on blocks, we should have kept Tony Richardson, Childress talks about players with charitcer, well Tony had it , he is a great player and person, Childress just throw guys under the bus, its never his fault, only the players, must be his complicated kick ass prevent offence…way to go chilly…you suck!!!

we threw a screen

to Chester yesterday, he dropped it. I agree with the idea of putting them both on the field more and then throwing, but I have to say, the Vikes’ playcalling has gotten immensely better in my opinion. We are throwing the ball and moving it down the field much better (granted, it’s the lions). When you look at the scoreboard and see 12 points you think, “man the offense is sucking” but really, had Adrian not fumbled those two possessions away, I think we’d be looking at a different score.

Also...

I think when Thomas Tapeh gets back into the lineup we’ll be better off at fullback.

Tapeh isn’t going to be in the lineup… He’s not hurt.

Tapeh

isn’t getting back in the lineup any time soon. apparently he can’t maintain as good lane disipline on special teams as Tahi can =p

People said the Vikings didn’t win the New Orleans game, but New Orleans lost it. I disagree. Our defense won that game.

And I disagree that our Defense won it. Their kicker lost it for them. The defense played a huge part in helping us win, yeah, but they weren’t the final deciding factor. It was a missed kick by Gramatica.

Don't forget about CT

Chester Taylor is a great asset to this team. Remember last year when AP was out and taylor ate up the yardage in his place. I heard minnesota was eventually going to get rid of him sooner or later. Thus, relying fully on peterson. This wouldn’t be a wise move seeing that CT can play a huge part in our run game as well. I love AP but he’s not a machine as childress may think he is. Sooner or later we’ll need that diversity and it lies within CT.
I really do have to give kudos to Gus. He’s shown great skill out there and i believe in a second wind for this guy. He threw for 296 yards against the lions and yet we only scored 12 points. All around we do need improvements, but honesly, I think our season is going steady.

Forgot to mention...

Relying on one person for any sport on any team for that matter is a NO-NO. Don’t really give a shit but look at the Pats. Totally relied on brady, now he’s done and they won’t be anywhere near where they were last year.
