R.I.P. Chuck Evans, 1968 - 2008

In what comes as a complete shock, former Minnesota Vikings fullback Chuck Evans passed away yesterday of heart failure.  He was 40 years of age.

Evans was drafted by the Vikings in the 11th round of the 1992 Draft out of Clark Atlanta University, a Division II school.  He was the starting fullback for the 1998 Vikings team that went 15-1 and set what was then the record for the most points in a season with 556.  1998 was his last season in Minnesota, as he spent the 1999 season with the Baltimore Ravens, and only played one game for Baltimore in 2000 before announcing his retirement.

We here at The Daily Norseman extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Evans family.

Gone Too Soon

Chuck Evans was a fine member of the Super Bowl winning 2000 Ravens. With great certainty, this former Clark Panther fullback has left us all far too soon. May his family find strength in memory of him in over coming this loss.
