The quotable Brad Childress:

When asked about the fans:

"I always tell them that none of the people are coming on the field," he said. "They won't have anything to do with the result of the game. [Their job] is to cheer or to boo. They certainly have that right."

The bolding is my bit. Discuss. Politely please.

And now I have to add another twenty words in order to fulfill the stupid requirements of the fan post. How annoying.

This FanPost was created by a registered user of The Daily Norseman, and does not necessarily reflect the views of the staff of the site. However, since this is a community, that view is no less important.

Well...

Should we just shoot him and get it over with?

I only jest, but this is why fans hate him. Either he is playing to that persona, or he is truly an ignorant fool. I think it is a combination.

A little uncalled for

I am not his bigest fan, but he is right, that we as fans don’t have a lot to do with the outcome of the game on the field. but we do have the right to express our joy or frustrations over the performance on the field. So I see nothing wrong with this quote per se.

But I still feel we need to make a change at the top to see a different result on the field.

Hmm

Line for Line its correct, wonder how he actually sounded it out, intonation means alot.

Still if we don’t show up, you get fired and the team moves i guess we would probably have some sort of say then.

wow,

totally disagree with Chilly’s comment there. We fans can have a huge impact on games at home. When it’s as loud as it gets in the dome, things get much more difficult for the visiting team’s offense and qb. Have you ever noticed that it’s extremely hard for opponents to get a first on third and long in a loud dome?

seriously...

how long before some of the veteran players start commenting on the childish “fire childress” chants?…..

you think they like having to hear that shit?….hell, no

yeah, the players thrive on the fans support, but in the end, most of them couldn’t give a rat’s ass about us…..

Winning

I’ve studied positive reinforcement, motivation, and winning for a long time.

All I can say is that the above quote by Childress is possibly one of the stupidest things anyone in a position of power can say, imho.

How can a coach motivate his players if he can’t even motivate his fans with a few simple words? In fact, quotes like these are demotivational. I could expect the gatoraid guy or the towel guy to say things like this, but not a head coach.
