Did anybody else..

watch "The Missing Rings '1998 Minnesota Vikings"?  It was on the NFL Network.  I just watched it and learned alot about that team.  Granted I was only 9 at the time, but i still remember Gary Anderson and the Tampa Loss.  I hate that i only remember the 2 losses.  I am happy tho that they did this, because if they would have won it all.  A few ofthe Greatest players in the NFL would have gotten rings.

In all my years as a Viking fan, that loss was probably the hardest to take (even more than the “worst no-call in the history of the NFL”, the “Hail Mary” game). This team was clearly head and shoulders above all others in the league and should have been meeting the Broncos in the Super Bowl. I said after that loss that Denver would kill Atlanta and they did. Still, it was little consolation. I’m glad the NFL network remembered them.

I don't need to see it...it is permenantly etched in my memory

That loss is one of those moments that you just remember where you were and who you were with….for me…I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, watching the game from the barracks. When Green had them take a knee, I knew we had lost….I wanted Green fired from that moment on. How do you have the most powerful (at the time) offense in NFL history and take a knee. All that and Denver admits to this day that they wanted nothing to do with the Vikes as they had no answers for the passing attack, I then met Jamal Anderson in a bar one night and he tells me about how they won and who gave in on the Vikes…..Does anyone have medication….make the pain go away!!

awesome season...

I had a buddy who played with the Vikes for several years, including the 98 season….

I got to go to a lot of game those three years, including the loss to Atlanta…I was sitting in the end zone when Anderson missed that FG…I actually saw grown men weaping in the stands…

biggest memories of that game was watching Cris Carter in the parking lot breaking down and having to be helped to his SUV…

then going to some Pizza place, and holding the door for Korey Stringer as he walked out with 8 large pizzas…

I remember all of the Super Bowl losses, but that season, and in particular, that game, were the worst I ever felt being a Vikings fan…it took almost two months to get over that game

that program was easily the hardest 60 mins. to endure in my life. seeing chris carter almost crying every time he talked about it was a hard thing to watch. hickenizgriz i hope that at least the seasons you will get to remember are the ones that count.

AP's record day, 296 in a single game.

Probably the worst that i've witness in my 26 year existence

Yes, of course, this dreadful day in 98. Wasn’t Anderson perfect that whole season aside from the missed field goal in the NFC championship game? Of all field goals to miss. Sadly, he’ll be remembered for that moment.

However, this was our finest year. Hell, had the most points til last season. Remarkable!

I’ve been seeing a lot of this team DVD’s coming out lately via commercials. Does anyone know if there going to make a vikings history DVD?

Saw it in my home while celebrating my first grandson's first birthday.

I did not kill the party but it was the hardest of all the losses I had to watch over the years – saw them all except 69 Super Bowl (Vietnam) and I listened to the Hail Mary catch on Armed Forces Radio at 0300 in Okinawa. But this guy Brad is worst – watching good talent wasting itself – why does he have his job 0-5 against the Packers – remember when the series was tied and the games made up for the season disappointments?

not only did Anderson not miss one field goal that season, he had not missed one the year prior either. Yes two full seasons not missing a field goal and the S.O.B. chokes and hooks it on a 39 yarder in the game before the S.B.

That was the first Vikings’ game I ever watched… and I was very sad afterwards.
