Quinn in purple?
I read this earlier and realized it hasn't really been touched on here so I'm going to go ahead and post it.
According to Charley Walters:
Word is the Vikings offered the Browns their 2009 and 2010 first-round draft picks for quarterback Brady Quinn, but Cleveland, after consideration, said no thanks.
Economically, the deal makes sense for the Vikings in that Quinn, who is under contract for three more years after this season, already has been paid his signing bonus. And the Vikings wouldn't have to spend on the draft picks. With the trading deadline recently passed, the deal could be resurrected after the season. If the Browns won't relent on Quinn, they might deal QB Derek Anderson to Minnesota.
Personally, I have nothing against dealing for Brady Quinn. Derek Anderson is a different story. Quinn makes a lot of sense for the Vikings; however, I don't think we'll deal for him with the current coaching situation. That being said, the deal being resurrected after the season seems entirely plausible.

All for it
Clean House….then get yourself a young prospectable QB and work him in.
wait…….where have I seen this before?
Either way, heads must roll. And it starts with “Major Dad” Childress. And he can take T-joke with him.
Come on Zygi. Go get Cowher, Marriucci, I dont know….someone who has proven that with talent and a competent QB can make it work.

That's a hefty price, and I hate Notre Dame...
But if he can be a franchise QB I will accept him with open arms.
In AP I trust

Dude
Quin to Berrian. Then we’d all get excited and proclaim the Vikes 2009 pre season champions. Then we’d have to hear it from Bears and Pack fans when that didn’t happen. So I say steal some of Fran T’s DNA, raise the kid via the ancient Spartan child rearing program, and let him play at 18. Then he’d lead us to a battle against insurmountable amounts of Cheeseheads..I mean Persians…. Ok I’ll shut up now.

According to Charley Walters:
Thats all you need to know.. More crap from Shooter. Chances is very strong, that we never talked to the Browns. I wonder what is the color of the sky in Charley’s world? His “Don’t Print That” section should be renamed “Don’t Get Your Hopes Up”. I would buy this rumor if it came from a reliable source. Not from a laughing stock and his imaginary birdies.

pass
There will be better QB prospects than Quinn ever was who should be in the draft over next couple of years. If that rumor is true (doubtful), two 1st rounders is too much, IMO. Keep the picks.
I’d maybe, MAYBE, consider a 1st and a much lower pick, particularly if guys like Bradford, Tebow, and McCoy don’t declare in 2009. Or maybe not. I’m not sure.
I just think Quinn’s pretty overrated. He had a ho-hum track record at Notre Dame, and most of his NFL experience consists of standing on the sidelines on a bad, dysfunctional Browns team. I just think better prospects are coming down the pipe soon. Trading 2 1st rounders for a guy like Quinn seems like it would be more for fan appeasment/saving-Childress’-butt than building a winner.

I am not
opposed to trading for Quinn, but 2 first rounders? really? that is a little too much for an unproven asset, after all we only offered a 2 rounder for Sage Rosenthals

HMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
Hey, this positive-posting thing is contagious. In my dream universe, the Vikings get either Colt McCoy, or Tim Tebow!! Then we get Jeff King from the Panthers to complete the package! Does anyone know why Matt Roan is not in a Vikings uniform?
Later man,
