ZYGY READ THIS -
After the Saints beat the Vikings on national television tonight, you're going to be faced with some crucial questions on the teams future, and your return on inventment. The 1-4 start painfully verified this clubs poor management decisions yet again this season by not addressing the two key weaknesses that were so obvious to even the novice NFL fan - the weak QB position (Tarvaris & Ferrote) and the weak play calling (Childress & Bevell). You made the mistake of not firing Childress last year, and then another by not spending a little more $$ for a backup QB when you knew you had the worst rated starting QB in the league. No matter how much you wished Brad Childress was right when he told you what potential this team had is irrelevent at this point. The obvious weaknesses have already manifested themselves and it is another losing season (or building year, if you prefer). BUT THERE IS HOPE. Act now. Fire Childress, let JD Booty finish the rest of the year. Make a statement. Interim coach won't matter, but start saving your $$ and court Bill Cower to coach next year. He knows how to resurrect a defense and run an offense focused on the running game. Let JD Booty learn how to play in the NFL, then keep him as a backup next year. At season end, go after David Carr from the Giants to start next year. He will be a steal (price wise), and he has huge upswing in the right system (ours). If you can accomplish these two things, next season's expectations will be bright. On Sunday mornings at the local Denny's and corner bars we will think of WILF not just as a Waitress I Luv to Fu*k, but as our heralded owner, the Zyggster. But let Childress stick around, and 90% of Vikings fans will have already shifted interest to the Wild by next weekend.

Just no
about everything you said. David Carr? Play Booty? You do realize if we win tonight we are tied for 2nd and one game back of 1st? Look at the long haul, not just instant gratification. I do agree about Chilly needing to go though. That man is painful.

Queen4lif?
Is this because you are a woman or an attempt to take a jab at the Vikings? I only question because I would like to think that all Vikings fans believe they will win tonight and any that saw the preseason would want Booty to stay as far away from the field as possible right now. Some would say Jackson isn’t ready, but Booty couldn’t be farther from being ready.
I do agree that Childress and Bevell need to go in favor of someone with a creative/aggressive offensive background. If the season does truly become a lost cause, then Jackson needs to go back in and play the rest of the season. At the very least give him a chance to audition for a job on another team for when he gets cut by the new regime or at best his time on the bench mixed with his past experiences will get a few wins.

JD Booty
should not be mentioned at all in the Vikings QB equation. He showed us (me, at least) in training camp and in the preseason that he is not ready for NFL football. In fact, if you watched training camp videos of him trying ten times to throw a football into a net from 15 yards away, and missing EVERY time, you’d think, like me, that he shouldn’t have even made the final roster.

In fact...
I think it was only 10 yards… he looked pathetic.
