Did you see Souhan's article today?

I originally wrote this as a comment, but I think it garners its own post.

Is he on Goodell’s payroll now? Way to throw the entire defensive line under the bus! I’m sure the guys are going to be REAL excited to give you an interview after they read that.

Allen has done NOTHING wrong—his “late hit” on Rodgers resulted from Williams LEGALLY shoving him just as he released the ball. All his other “questionable” hits are BS too—he’s going hard at the ball at all times and he isn’t cheap-shotting people. As Souhan says himself, the film doesn’t lie. Go back and look at all the plays in question, and the only thing you’ll see is a guy going all-out to do his job. Ridiculous.

The Williams Wall is in trouble for taking something they thought would help them drop a couple pounds, and now they’ll probably get punished for trying to mask steroids, something that has THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE EFFECT. Makes total sense to me! Especially when the supplement in question is shadier than a rainforest and the company shut down as soon as this controversy started.

As for Edwards, well, that was a late hit. I’m a fan, but I’m not blindly biased. My first reaction after I saw it live: “well, here comes a fine.” But it’s not like Edwards is notorious for it. A suspension would be a disgusting overreaction. He should pay his fine and move on. If he keeps doing it, then Goody-Goodell can come down on him harder.

This season is already enough of a mess with our geriatric QB, our “special” (as in special needs) teams, and a coach that looks and coaches like he’d be much better off doing my taxes. If any or all of our D-line gets suspended for any length of time, we might as well put a big stamp on 2008.

Ha.

I enjoyed that article. I don’t have access to the Trib so thanks for putting that link up. We should have discussion on those types of articles more often.

Souhan and Sid are both tools but hey, they’re entertaining.

Edwards hit

We were at the game and talking about the Allen deal with Bucs fans -they agreed it was lame. Just about then the Edwards hit comes in and I said, “now that is a fine” as the fans were booing. But, that is the only thing I saw that could be concieved as flagrant by any Viking d lineman this season.

Time for Souhan to Go

If Souhan’s job is to be ‘provocative’, then he pulled it off.

Allen and the Williamses are at the top of their form. Quite possibly the best players at their positions in the world. All 3 are professionals. The one thing that none of them need to do in order to get their job done, is cheat. None of them need to take cheap shots and then lie about it when they know there’ll be film on the hits. They’ve never been accused of being ‘dirty players’ before, why would that suddenly change?

So why not give them the benefit of the doubt? And that’s why I think Souhan’s writing makes it clear that he’s not a Vikings fan, and he’s not an objective journalist. Because if he was a fan, the article would slant that way. And if he was objective, he’d give those professionals the benefit of the doubt.

I think the Trib needs to ask themselves why they have an anti-Viking journalist writing on the Vikings.

Strib

The glib Strib loves to attack anything local and then wonder why it is losing money.
If the defensive line would knickname themselves Al Qaeda at least they would get the support of the editorial staff.

I agree

Is this a article just to rile our feathers, or is it showing Joe not getting that round mouth by eating three sqaure meals a day? He is so off base. He has no idea what the speed of the game is. Your right on Eric
