Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Aaron Rodgers

On Sportscenter's Sunday conversation, Rodgers says:

"It's very humbling to get a contract extension in the middle of the season."

.....umm.....does he know what humbling means? Not only is humbling used incorrectly, but the correct word would be the exact opposite of humbling.

Idiot.

Oh yeah and he looks like a sloth.

The end? Nope, need more words....the end? Not yet, hold on....the end.

Okay now, now is definitely the....the end.

I'm glad the Packers are betting the farm on him.

He’s an ok QB but does anybody really look at him and his game and think….‘elite NFL QB’?? I don’t and I think the Packers are going to regrett giving him all that cash before he’s even played an entire season as a starter.

VikeGuru is a doofus!!

The thing is, he doesn’t have to be elite with their recieving corps. He’s clearly a talented QB, the best in the division right now. I know its not saying much, but for him to finally start and do so well is a good sign for them. Especially since their record isn’t so much the result of Rodgers but of their defense mostly. He keeps them in games.

I don’t mean to heap praise on him, but I have to give credit where its due. He’s a good QB.

they have one of the best pass defenses in the league. i think their losses have been just as much his fault as the defense’s.

I think part of their good pass defense is that teams don’t need to pass on them so much. Sort of like our pass defense seeming terrible because teams don’t run, their’s is better because teams can just run on them all day. Unless you’re Drew Brees.

try and adjust your mind to this

I’m in SE Wis and sports talk radio of course is nothing but talk about the game. The horrible defense is the reason they lost and Rodgers play is something that the fans should be excited about. Lots of talk about Jennings running a different route causing the first big interception. Never mind that Jennings himself said that he couldn’t have caught the ball if he ran the different route. Also fabulous draft choice Jordy Nelson did something wrong so that was his fault for the second interception. The third was just him trying to make a play.

Then they talk for a while and eventually they say that if Favre had done it, the Favre lovers would just blame the receivers. I honestly don’t remember that happening since the Billy Schroeder era and Holmgren once jerked him off the field by his jersey he was so mad at him.

Not only does Rogers have a fresh long contract, but so do Thompson and McCarthy. The president is new and totally behind tossing Favre.

Well… if this is how he plays after I praise him, I think I’m going to have to get busy just before every GB game.

The Refresher Course

Close Aaron. You did get the first letter right: What the Saints do to you in the middle of the Superdome is called “humbling”. Getting a better contract in midseason is when you feel “honored”.

As a follow up, I heard Lebron say yesterday that he was humbled that he has so many fans across the country. Perhaps this is a sport-wide epidemic.
