My Jersey Curse

Several years ago, I decided that it was finally time to show my support of the Purple and invest in a Vikings jersey. I picked Moss, who at the time was far and away my favorite player on the team.

That very season? He was injured and subsequently traded away to Oakland.

Well next season comes around, and I think, "Hey, I can't be wearing a jersey of a guy who used to play for the Vikes!" So I decided to get a new one. Culpepper had just recieved a nice, long contract extension, so he wasn't going anywhere, right?

Wrong! That season, Culpepper was injured and then traded away as well.

It's been awhile since I last got a jersey, but lo and behold, this year my family got me a brand new EJ Henderson jersey...

And now he's on IR, and I'm crossing my fingers that he doesn't go anywhere this offseason! Maybe I should just avoid buying any more in the future.

That's Almost Funny!

I only have two jerseys as well. Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss. Go figure. I do have a personalized jersey with my name and old high school number on the back.

I’ve been planning on getting a Allen jersey, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

I got a DC jersey a couple months before he got traded...

But now I have an AP jersey, and so far he’s fine. Guess he’s just too amazing to be affected by a jersey curse.

Tarvaris Jackson

My first Viking Jersey was a Daunte Culpepper, which was the summer before his terrible season…then this summer, when Childress heralded Tarvaris Jackson the Quarterback of the future, I bought his jersey, and he got benched…lame. Last year I bought an AD jersey, and he’s doing great, and one week before the Saints game i bought an Antoine Jersey, so it looks like my jersey luck is turning around.
