Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Great Game....BUT....

I don't want to be the one to bring up any negatives because overall the vikings played a very complete game.

BUT...

Can ANYONE give me ONE reason why in the hell we are running AP deep in the 4th quarter with a big lead after watching him come off limping on multiple plays???

Doesn't make much sense to me...  Other than that, I actually believe this was a well coached ball game.  (I think I just complimented childress....uh...weird)

Oh yeah, and Sapp is a retard.

Yeah...

A lot of us were thinking the same thing. Definitely not smart. Actually, Chester shouldn’t even be carrying the ball that late with the game pretty well in hand. Our third string guy should have been in.

Sapp’s move was extremely stupid. Did you hear him apologize after the game on fanline, though? I thought it was kinda funny. Actually, fanline was funny in general last night.

I'm sure the question will be answered by the news conference today...

But my guess is that he kept pushing to get back in there. I don’t recall him going back in after he limped off the second time though.

I was fuming last night when Chilly ran AD back out there

so late when we had the game in hand. There is absolutely no excuse for him being in the game at that juncture. Chilly is just not very smart.

VikeGuru is a doofus!!

No reason for it.

Chester was doing fine running the ball, why jepordize AD’s future with an already won ball game? I don’t care how many games we win. Childress needs to be fired!

The sad thing is I couldn’t remember who our 3rd string RB was…none other than Maurice Hicks, our beloved ineffective kick returner. I have to agree with footballninja though, it was weird watching the Vikings play a well-coached game and execute. Is it too little too late for Childress or will Zygi see this as a sign of improvement and – please, please NO – keep Childress for another year or two?

I kept having this crazy flashback vision of watching the MOVIE “Friday Night Lights” when the big star Boobie Miles scores 4 Touchdowns, the games essentially over and he begs the coach to go back in to score his 5th TD (I think) and proceeds to break his leg and can no longer play football……ever.

First, AD is always going to be getting nicked up during a game. He says so himself. It’s not a huge deal. Second, Childress was probably having visions of the game last season where the Bears scored 2 TDs in less than 5 minutes to tie the game and it took a phenomonal kick off return by Peterson to set up the winning FG. . . at least I was having visions of it.

Point is, Peterson is going to be just fine, even in mop up duty. He doesn’t wear a skirt, there’s no need to treat him like he’s made out of glass. He’s a tough player and I trust him to know his limits, as does Childress.
