Great 2nd shot

Tarvaris not asked to do to much but made the most of his opportunities.

I thought he had great accuracy overall puting the ball in the right place. And a great shoulder fake to free up Bobby Wade.

Berian 41yd TD pass down the side line.

Rice 6yd TD pass perfectly in the middle of his chest in tight coverage on the slant.

Taylor got a 11yd Screen pass for a TD and wasn’t touched.

Bobby Wade catches 59yd TD pass after a shoulder fake to get the corner to bite and great pass from TJ.

Yeah, I was amazed by the Berrian and Wade TD passes. I didn’t think he was that accurate. It might have been luck, but damn those were some good throws. Keep up the work, Jackson.

Did TJack close his eyes and throw the ball?

Is it possible that he might actually be able to play a little bit and would it now be possible for some fans to give the kid a little credit when he does well?

VikeGuru is a doofus!!

I hope so. Now their defense won’t be “it was only against the Lions” or “they didn’t game plan for him”. Arizona knew what he could do here. Or maybe they didn’t, since he did have 4 TDs. I don’t expect games like this from him all the time, but I think he might be more of a team leader than people give him credit for.

On the other side of the tolken....

Childress should be letting him pass more than 17 times a game. If he’s our future let him throw the ball a little more.

Yeah, I would agree except for one point… it was 28-0 at halftime. He didn’t need to throw anymore. All they had to do was run down the clock. It was pretty much over in the first quarter.

TJ

TJ did his job today . . . take the pressure off the run game enough to allow AP to run wild. Also in the mean time he hit his receivers with precision, and skol to TJ and Berrian for that 41 yard TD on 3rd down . . . TJ put Berrian in a place to succeed, Berrian made a great catch. 6 more games like this and we may get a parade.

More than "Managing"

TJ only had 17 attempts, but he did more than manage the game. His throw to Berrian could NOT have been more perfect. Earlier TJ might have put it a little too outside and out of bounds. A perfect throw.

The one to Wade? BING! Nice zip. A bad angle by the safety, but the ball was right where it needed to be.

The TD to Rice? Perfect. If he led Sydney at all, the ball would’ve been knocked down. W/ Rice’s size, that was another perfect pass.

Well done, Tarvaris!!!!

I’m worried about the Dirty Birds, but if we put together another complete game like we did today, we’ll win by 10 at least.

The versatility...

of the Falcons might present problems. The Vikes D-line was able to pin their ears back today and get after the QB. Having to play the run first versus ATL will open up play action and other down field shots.

Not to say the Vikings can’t game plan the Falcons. If they don’t have the ball, the harder it is to score!

In the future...

With a little more work it is possible that he would be able to take better advantage of the down field opportunities our running game is sure to present. He threw perfect passes on a pair of 40+ yard touchdowns, he’s NFL ready.

Most importantly, with all due respect to Gus Frerotte, Tavaris Jackson gives the Vikings a better chance to not only win, but to play aggressively (one FG attempt – blocked, but only one attempt!). He didn’t even threaten with his feet today.

I am not one who gives much thought to losing your position due to injury, I just want the best 11 to play.

by LoveHate on Dec 14, 2008 10:03 PM CST reply actions

He tried to use his feet in a couple plays, just wasn’t successful. They were ready for him, I think on his two-attempted runs he was sacked for one (But the horsecollar tackle erased it) and just made it to the line of scrimmage on the other. He was a pocket passer this game though, it was good to see him succeed as well as he did.

Good To See..

Sydney Rice getting more involved with the offense. He has a great pair of hands and is our biggest threat in the red zone because of his height and leaping ability. Damn fine job by the whole team.

Great game. From what I see written anyways (stupid Michigan TV...)

Go Tjack. I knew he had it in him. Okay hoped. But I was (almost) always more for him than Gus.

In AP I trust
