Explanation, Please?

Can anyone explain to me what I obviously don't get?  With 1:11 left in the game, from the Giants 38 yard line, it seems that Brad Childress & Co. decided the Vikes were in field goal range and hardly even tried to gain an extra yard.

I'm totally and completely stoked that Longwell made that 50 yd FG, but should it really have come down to that?

I really don't get the play calling/clock management in the final two minutes. Help?

but WTF, we won anyway.

True Dat!

Glad to hear I’m not the only befuddled one. Glad we won, but this is the type of coaching that makes me worried about going deep into the playoffs.

It's no excuse, but I will say that...

TJ threw a pick the last time he was given free reign in the red zone – he knew CHI was going to lose and figured he may as well leave no time left for NY

Ok...

If Chilly was filled in on the CHI-HOU game, and felt extremely confident that Longwell could hit from 50, I’ll buy this explanation.

I don’t know. The game management at the end was just terrible. Absolute trash. Childress definitely regressed in that regard today. Hopefully he’ll up his coaching strategy for the playoffs while the players up their intensity.

Reminded of the Packers game

In a bad way. Exactly the same strategy McCarthy used to lose the second meeting this year. That field goal was the most nervous I have been all year.

THEY HAD TO HAVE KNOWN.......

that houston had beat the bears, that is the only logical explanation. Any thing else and we are in trouble in the playoffs
