Pat Williams plans to play on Sunday
From Access Vikings,
"The Vikings clearly are not the same defense without Pat Williams in the middle. Williams was in the locker room afterward and said his plan is to play Sunday. He is scheduled to have his right shoulder examined again on Monday. Williams said he no longer has pain and is trying to regain his strength in his arm."
It would be HUGE to get him back for next week. Let's hope he doesn't have any setbacks.

Great!
We really need him back to stop the run. We have looked pretty weak against the run the last few weeks.
We have...
Although, the Falcons and Giants are very good rushing teams, Pat Williams has a huge impact on our defense.

Mwahaha yes! The whole D-line just isn’t the same without Pat. I haven’t noticed as good of a passrush without him either.
Funny thing...
He isn’t even on the field for most passing downs, but you are right. Maybe guys are tiring on downs 1-2 trying to make up for him (sounds bogus). Whatever it is, he is clearly necessary in the playoffs.
Did you notice
How the Vikings seemed to be diving after Ward and Bradshaw yesterday? Of course some of it is because the two thirds of “Earth, Wind and Fire” that played yesterday are good running backs, and the Giants offensive line is among the very best in the league. But a lot of it had to do with the fact that the running backs didn’t have to make their first cut until after the line of scrimmage.
When both Williamses are in the game and shoving around everything in sight, RBs often have to make a cut before they get a head of steam going. So even if they do get past our D-line, the linebackers have had a chance to fill in the gap and make a solid, head-on tackle. With Phat Pat out, two guys can get Kevin out of the way and our back seven doesn’t have as much time to get where they need to be. Even if he isn’t 100% or if he doesn’t play as many snaps, he’ll be a sight for sore Metrodome eyes on Sunday.

We need Pat...
The last two games made it obvious. Falcons scored early by running up the middle and play action, though their ability to run did go away later. The Giants are the first team this season to maintain consistent interior rushing for basically the whole game. With Pat and Kevin in there, no team has been able to get that 3-5 yards on first down up the middle consistently. Not for three years basically. Without him, one team does it for a half and the other team basically does it for a game. Granted, they were the best two interior rushing teams in the nfl.
Our saving grace if Pat doesn’t play on Sunday is that the Eagles favor passing and outside runs more than the last two teams. His presense will be missed, but not quite so obviously. I think with EJ in, the loss wouldn’t be so big. With Pat in, we don’t miss EJ as much. But with both out we are very average in interior run defense.
Pretty much further proof that coaching is a bit over rated in this league. Chilly is the reason we are 10-6 and not 16-0 (as most of these ultra negative “vikings fans” would tell you). Yet we lose one player and the strength of the team goes away.
I actually have grown fond of Chilly and what their offense does. I just wish they would have found a way to counter this “pack 9 in the box an rush everything up the middle on first down every time” crap that teams do to us.
No way they're keeping out of the game

Man, the Eagles definatly dont need another pass rusher to worry about, but it is not a definate go for “phat pat”
Coach Brad Childress said Monday that Williams will “try to make that push to this weekend” but was noncommittal about whether the three-time Pro Bowl pick would be able to suit up for the Eagles game
Who wants to play Leapfrog with Trent?
Thank God for the Twins (The Williams Brothers, not the baseball team!)
