Blackout? I doubt it.
I don't understand all this ink being spilled over the possibility of a blackout for the Vikings playoff game. They made the playoffs Sunday and immediately on Monday the stories began that they had 20,000 seats remaining and there may be a blackout. Obviously the tickets will be sold out by tomorrow, if not today (Tuesday).
It seems to me someone has an ulterior motive to slander our fanbase and make it look like the Vikings aren't getting much support in MN. Both by implying that we're not buying tickets and by inciting Eagles fans to slam the phones and buy as many tickets as possible. It will look bad if there is a lot of Green in the stands on Sunday.
Anyone want to buy into the conspiracy that this story was planted by the league to help move the team to L.A. or drive the stadium deal forward. I'm selling conspiracy tickets on the cheap and I do accept Visa and MasterCard.

Im not
familiar with too much Vikings news but I can tell you that I myself and numerous other people I know got tickets and will be there in all our finest Green. I got mine on Ebay for what is a crazy cheap price for a playoff ticket. Same goes for the other 12 folks I know that are coming. As far as the media slandering the Viks fanbase. I know how you feel.

Be careful
Don’t park too far away and be careful on your way into the Dome!

why’s that? Never been to Minny either
But T.O. and his sideline histrionics wear on a quarterback. He's like the hot stripper you tried to clean up and convert into a real girlfriend. It's a lot of fun until the moment she has her second drink while out to eat with your parents. You unravel quicker than she does.

Metro
When I visited for a game I went to the Mall of America to park, for free, and then took the Metro rail line to the game. It stops in front of the Humpty Dome. It was pretty full to and fro, but I liked it better than looking for parking and fighting traffic.
Also I hope you enjoy the Minnesota experience. I firmly believe that there are jerks that follow ALL NFL teams so if you come across an idiot wizzing on your shoes while you stand at the Dome troft and he is wearing Helga braids, remember there are some classy Viking fans at the game…..

Not worried
I’ve been to a lot of stadiums and never had a problem. I dont see Sunday being any different.

And you probably shouldn't be worried Phan.
The one thing the Vikings have had a problem with the last several years is the season ticket holders selling their tickets to the opposing fans. Fortunately for you, you will probably see quite a few of your brothers and sisters. I saw an answer Childress made to a question from a reporter. The reporter asked him what the biggest difference was between the Eagles fans and the Vikings fans was. Childress said that in Philly, the opposing fans would never think about wearing their teams colors. None the less, the true fans will be there, and we will be as passionate as any fan in the league. We will, however, not take any taunting in our stadium. You have a good game. SKOL VIKES!!

Appreciate it
No doubt there are some at Eagles home games that are a bit much. But you give a ton of beer to a bunch of people and there are always a few that cant handle it. That goes for anywhere. I have a young son and the last thing I want is for him to be around a bunch of A-holes. I want him to have fun and this game will be a great memory for him. We will both be there hoping to have a good time.

Hopefully....
…you will not have too good of a time, if you know what I mean. SKOL VIKES!!

One thing is true...
“Minnesota Nice” is actually a very real phenomenon. We may hate the fact that there are a few too many green jerseys in the crowd on Sunday, but the vast majority of us will just mutter it under our breath or offer up a few harmless heckles if we pass you in the Dome. It doesn’t necessarily translate well for playoff football, but it’s one of the reasons I put up with the ridiculous Minnesota weather this time of year. Right? I mean, c’mon, there has to be some reason I deal with all this snow and cold!! I’m not crazy, I swear!

Agreed
Without people heckling each other it wouldnt be football. I am expecting a good amount of it. Going to Skins games people will try to talk my son into becoming a Skins fan. I really like a good back and forth. But I dont see a reason for it to go farther than that.

You have no idea
about the media slandering your fanbase. I’m sorry, but you’re east coast in a big market, the media loves you.
I also think there could be a conspiracy against the Vikings by the media AND the NFL. The NFL looks stupid for not having a franchise in L.A. However, I have never understood why they would want the Vikes of all teams… aren’t there better candidates to move out there?
This slandering of the fan base isn’t quite what I will be looking at as far as a conspiracy, though. Instead I will keep my eye on the officiating this Sunday. Lord knows that the NFL and the media would much rather see a New York-Philly game over a Minnesota-Carolina game. My whole life I have watched the T-Wolves get screwed over to east coast teams and L.A. by the NBA refs, who we have seen don’t always have the highest integrity.

I like it...
…but I really doubt there’s a conspiracy. We’ll sell it out with plenty of time to spare, whether or not the Eagles fans show up. We had 20,000 tickets left because let’s face it, after year after year of finding ways to creatively miss the playoffs, it’s not like we were going to buy our playoff tickets until it was absolutely certain we actually made it.
As for the media, Vikings fans don’t necessarily get a bad rap—we usually get ignored altogether by the national media, along with our team. The Philly fans get a bad rap, but they also earn a lot of it. They really did have a courtroom in the old Vet and they really did boo Santa. If you asked most people which fan base was the “worst”, most people would say Eagles fans because of their partially-unfair nasty reputation. But I’d rather be called nasty than apathetic!
