Non-sellout could be a blessing, not a curse!

This means that only fans who want to be at this game will attend, which means these fans will want the Vikes to win (while hopefully not thinking about the coaching situation) and will make some noise!  The fans need to be hella loud on Sunday to give the Vikes a needed edge on Defense! Especially if McNabb and his crew are clickin' like last week!  I hope fellow Vikes fans bought tickets to the game because they're gonna lose their voices cheering, fans have no obligation to attend like season-ticket holders - so I hope we show a lot of heart this Sunday!  We'll see how loud the dome is in 5 days and let's all hope their isn't a lot of Green in the dome - but I'm sure we all fear that there may be!

that's dumb

And the game will obviously be a sellout. First home playoff game since 2000 and we’ve sold out a hundred-some straight regular season games. Talking about this will just feed to the ideas other idiots have that we are not a strong fanbase.

sorry man...

but there is no way that 20-25 thousand Eagles fans invading the metrodome is a blessing.

You’ll be learning our fight song by half time

I've Seen The Words

to your “fight” song. Pretty simple. Any toddler could learn it in a few minutes I’m sure. I guess you couldn’t make it too difficult or you’d have trouble remembering it yourself…Even if you do try to crank it up Sunday, I doubt anyone will care or more likely hear it.

3 to 1 ratio of viking fans to eagles fans???

You have got to be freakin’ kidding me…. You don’t honestly believe that, do you?? If you do, you’re totally deluded.

hahahaha… did trollblue show is face here?

You guys got an extension though

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) – The NFL has given the Minnesota Vikings and the Arizona Cardinals extensions to sell more tickets and avoid local TV blackouts of their playoff games this weekend.

The Cardinals have until 4:30 p.m. ET Thursday to sell their remaining 5,600 tickets.

As of midday Wednesday, the Vikings had 11,000 tickets to sell by 4:30 p.m. ET Friday to satisfy the league’s sellout requirements and ensure the game will be broadcast. Help from the FOX affiliate and corporate sponsors is possible.

The Vikings haven’t been blacked out since 1997.

The Eagles are encouraging their fans to take advantage of the supply and travel to the game

Dont worry about him 700....

He’s been a member here for 2 weeks. He has 11 total comments. A bandwagoner. Fizzle away follower!
Let him try to stir things up and be an ass. The relatively mellow trash talking amongst the 2 teams fans is cool by all. Its not friendly, but thats part of the fun of it.
Lets not generalize the Vikings fans based off this clown. I havent read 1 comment this guy put up that added any value to his own site. I think he is actually a troll on his on teams blog!!!

actually...

the clown is a guy by the name of LoveHate … damn, no never mind, ignore that Green. my resolution is to be nice to… unpleasent people. I decided to follow what purplegrey said.

More Green in your stadium than you think......

There will be a lot of Eagles fans at this game. I dont think Vikings fans realize hoe impossible it is to get any tickets in Philly, let alone playoff tickets. I have 11 people that work for me, and had ALL 11 log in to ticketmaster at the beginning of the yr when they opened up tickets sales.(Abuse of power? maybe. Oh well.) guess what…. 0-11. Not one of them, nor my parents, nor friends, nor familiy members actually got tickets. Sold out within minutes.
In 2004 i spent $250 per ticket to get decent seats for the playoff games…
My point is….I know a lot of people that are taking the 15-17 hour drive, or flying to Minn for the game. We’re all willing to pay that money, I guess we’re used to it. I think your stadium is going to be more Green than you think.
Helpful tip…..Tickets are as cheap as $30 on stubhub. Forget ticket master, they’re unloading them at stubhub.

Oh, There'll Be Green All Right...

The field is and always has been green and most of the other green will be what’s coming out of your pockets stimulating the Minnesota economy. Bring it on.

Too bad you guys are going to be 1 and done! More games would = more money!

We’ll see which ‘Green’ TJack cares about come game time. It may end up being Black and Blue he cares about!

Sounds Like...

you’re making a guarantee. As far as the “black and blue” reference, keep in mind we didn’t get the name in the old NFC Central as the “Black and Blue” division for nothing. It may be the North now but the term still applies.

by purplegrey on Jan 1, 2009 1:30 PM CST reply actions

Certainly is a guarantee! I guarantee we put a ton of pressure on your QB….what he does with it is another thing. Will he rise to the occasion? Or suffer a similar defeat like Tony Romo? The outcome, i cannt guarantee….

by GreenInBaltimore on Jan 1, 2009 3:11 PM CST up reply actions

Now Really...

do you think it’s fair to compare our QB with the man who is fast becoming the biggest late-season choker in the history of the league? Tavaris Jackson has had a rough year more off the field than on it. After that, anything on the field is gravy, so I’ll play along and say yes, he will rise to the occasion.

by purplegrey on Jan 1, 2009 3:44 PM CST reply actions

not becoming

he is the biggest choker and the most overrated player in the NFL.

Who wants to play Leapfrog with Trent?

by anuj on Jan 1, 2009 5:12 PM CST up reply actions

i guess it isnt fair to compare TR with TJ. Tony is a proven loser and Tjack is unproven on all counts. I was really more saying to get forced into mistakes, like tony did last week. If ANY QB were to have a showing like Tony did last week, they would surely suffer a miserable defeat!

by GreenInBaltimore on Jan 1, 2009 5:26 PM CST up reply actions

I Believe

(not 100% sure of this) that the Giants blitzed T-Jack about 80% of the time in the game last week. He was under pressure all day and picked himself up off the turf after too many throws. I watched the Dallas game and the pressure seemed to be equal. The main difference I saw was that Romo held the ball too long at times trying to make a play and he paid the price for it. Tavaris didn’t put up big numbers but he didn’t lose the game for us either. As far as being unproven, I’d say he took a huge step forward in that contest. We’ll find out just how far on Sunday.

by purplegrey on Jan 1, 2009 5:46 PM CST reply actions

i can agree with most of what you wrote here. I dont think Tjack has taken a HUGE step, but maybe just A step in the right direction.

by GreenInBaltimore on Jan 1, 2009 5:56 PM CST up reply actions

Too often blitzers ran past lineman twiddling their thumbs, with an opportunity to try and block them anyway. I don’t think last week (80% or whatever) is going to be representative of how the Vikes handle the blitz this weekend. You shouldn’t have to remind pros to keep their head on swivel, but hopefully it served as a wake up call.

by LoveHate on Jan 1, 2009 6:07 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah

That was on another post earlier about the lack of protection by our O-line (especially McKinnie). Hopefully it will be a wakeup call. I was just trying to point out that T-Jack stood tall under pressure all day. It should help him in the game this week.

Like I Said

just to let you know, i’m not on the bandwagon. i’ve been a fan since the mid eighties (since i was about 7). i’ve only been a member here for two weeks, because we just got the internet. sorry it took so long to be able to afford it. it just drives me nuts that you all come over here and start giving everyone hell….. it’s pretty much just that you come over here and basically say that the vikings suck, have shitty fans, and should be moved to LA because they have no fan base here. i don’t have a problem with arguing about who’s going to win, i have a problem with talking shit about us fans and our dedication. all 700 has done is talk shit about the fans as opposed to who we think is gonna win the game.
