With the 43nd overall pick in the second round, the Minnesota Vikings selected safety Tyrell Johnson from Arkansas State.
This is a good pick. Johnson will not only be the eventual replacement to Darren Sharper, but he will also make an immediate impact on the pass defense of this Viking team.

Jare Allen
If you count Jared Allen and his 11 sack a year average as the Vikings #1 pick, this was a very successful draft.

Later Rounds
Sullivan is probably the most likely to see action first among the rookies. I like Johnson but there’s a lot of money in front of him and Sullivan is the replacement for Birk in ‘09. He was even rated as the #1 best center by a few pre-draft databases.
