Quick, Depressing Stat of the Day
Busy day today for yours truly over on this end. I'll have some solid football content tomorrow, but here's something that you'll either find funny or depressing, depending on your perspective.
In 2007, Jared Allen had as many touchdown receptions (2) as Visanthe Shiancoe (1) and Troy Williamson (1) combined.
Good lord, that's sad. But hey. . .we might have that goal line tight end we've been looking for after all.
Again, I apologize for the lack of content today. . .but we'll be here tomorrow with more of the good, solid Vikings coverage you've become accustomed to from The Daily Norseman. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, everybody!

Is that depressing?
I can’t wait to see 69 outscore Shiancoe.

Draft???
The draft is really a joke! It’s hard to believe that so many teams still believe that the way to rebuild is through the draft. You get potential, but that’s all you get. Kansas City got more selections than anyone else. You watch – in 2 or 3 years- if more than 2 or 3 of those selections are still playing in the NFL I’ll miss my guess. Look at some of our (The Vikings) selections over the past couple of years. I don’t count last year – We got lucky!! Before that, Troy Williamson, the wide receiver who can’t catch. How did this happen? Erasmus James – Knee Injury, probably ruins his NFL career. Kennechi Udeze – How can an athlete in the prime of life come down with cancer! I pray for you, Kennechi. These are round 1 draft picks! I feel that the Vikings for the most part should look around and gather proven assets.

Wait a minute...
The draft is an important source of talent. Adrian Peterson, Greenway, Robison, Allison, and Edwards all came out of recent Viking drafts. Sure it’s a gamble, but what in life isn’t? Anybody could be hit by the run away beer truck tomorrow! It’s only when you’re missing a few pieces to your puzzle that you can afford to go after a Jared Allen. (...and many people in Minnesota still haven’t forgotten the Herschel Walker deal.) It takes many tools to build a winning team. They don’t come in a bright colored box with the simple instruction: just add water…
