Thigpen Doing Well in KC

Add Tyler Thigpen back to the list of good draft picks in the Vikings 2007 NFL Draft Class.  Apparently Tyler is turning heads in KC and could become their starting QB.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports...

Former Coastal Carolina quarterback Tyler Thigpen  , Minnesota's seventh-round pick in 2007, has impressed Kansas City enough to make the Chiefs think he could challenge for, and even win, the team's starting job.

The 6-foot-1, 224-pound Thigpen impressed the Chiefs throughout last year, but especially in Week 13 when he drove the Chiefs down field on one drive against San Diego before throwing an interception in the endzone.

With a good arm and a strong presence, Thigpen has impressed them enough to make them think he could unseat Brodie Croyle as the starter in Kansas City. Thigpen's chance will come this summer

Wow...I sure hope that Thigpen doesn't turn out to be the next Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme or Tony Romo while we continue to struggle at the QB position with T-Jack & Co.  We may have let a good one get away.

Uhhh

I really struggle to see Thigpen “making it”. If he does, good for him. If I were the Vikings though I would’ve done the same thing with him, tried to bring him through waivers.

With QB’s, you have to get lucky. Brady and Romo were their teams hitting the jackpot. Both teams would have drafted, or actually drafted those guys earlier than they did. Our (the Chiefs) QB situation isnt any better than your guys’. You have to surround a young QB with targets to throw to. Who is Tavaris throwing to? You have a running game, a good OLine. who is getting open down the field? It’s hard to judge a QB when your trading your 1st rd pick 2 years after taking him… a WR. Give him a viable option to throw to.

Tavaris

Travaris makes the rookie mistakes, but the more he plays the more comfortable he gets. I believe once he gets more at ease in the pocket, the better he will get. The receiving corp needs to step it up on their end,how many passes were dropped last year
that were right in their hands! As far as Thigpen goesif he turns out to be the next Romo
or Brady, the Vikings need to get a new crystal ball.

IT'S TIME FOR A RING !!!!!
