Helping a Good Cause

Just a heads-up for those of you in the Twin Cities area.  Many of you have probably already heard about this, but there's no reason not to promote it here.

Adrian Peterson's All Day Foundation is going to be hosting a golf tournament this coming Sunday and Monday (15 and 16 June) to raise money for charities such as Special Olympics Minnesota and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.

There will be a dinner and live auction on the 15th, with lunch and the actual golf tournament taking place on the 16th.  It's advertised as being Adrian Peterson and "31 World Class Athletes," but I can't seem to find a listing of who any of those athletes might be.  I would assume that it would include many members of the Beloved Purple.

Some of the items that will be up for auction include:

-A private football camp with Adrian Peterson (for up to 10 kids)
-Dinner for 4 at Adrian Peterson's house, along with 2 other Viking players (TBD)
-2 tickets to Vikings/Bears game in Chicago on 19 October (includes meet and greet with Peterson and Tommie Harris)
-2 tickets to the ESPY Awards (includes dinner with AP and guests)
-Tickets to the filming of The Ellen Degeneres Show and The Dr. Phil Show (Oooh!  Oooh!  Me!  Me!  vomits)
-Tickets to attend a filming of the TV show Two and a Half Men
-Something called the "Carl Pohlad Dining Experience" (during which, I can only assume, Oliver Twist comes to your table and says "Please, Carl, may I have some more?")
-2 VIP Passes to the 2009 PGA Championship at Hazeltine

It IS a bit on the spendy side. . .$750 for an individual golfer, $3,000 for a foursome, and $5,000 for a corporate sponsor (though I'm guessing it's probably a bit on the late side for that sort of thing), but the money is going to a very good cause.  So, if you have any rich friends in the Minneapolis area, encourage them to take a look at this.

That's all for tonight, folks. . .continue enjoying what's left of your Wednesday, and we'll see you back here tomorrow!
