Dr. Z's drinking the Purple Kool-Aid
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/dr_z/06/20/vikings/index.html
He's picking them to win it all. People are recognizing that there is a buzz about the team. And that's good. And really, this season hinges on T-Jack. Can he perform under pressure and can he stay healthy? If so... it's definitely a possibility.
As a side note, I'm changing Kool-Aid's name. It is now Skol-Aid. That is all.

Skol-aid already exists, it´s called Brenavin. :P
Not sure why Dr Z refers to Gorden as a free agent addition, wasn´t he retained as a restricted free agent?

That stuff looks… scary.
And checking NFL.com, he’s been on the team for the past two years… So I’m guessing you’re correct there. Nice catch. I just mentally went “Who?” and kept reading the article.

Gorden
I am not sure why he was mentioned in the article at all, even if he happened to be a free agent acquisition, he will probably only be behind both McCauley and Johnson for the nickel and dime spots.
You are correct, Brenavin is scary stuff, perfect for the purple kool-aid, or skol-aid.

Had to look...
Brenavin is Scandinavian potatoe moonshine. Skol-Aid would warm any Vikings fan’s outlook on the game.
It may take a village to raise a child, but it takes a Viking to raze a village.

how did this conversation devolve into a discussion about liquor?
… oh, yeah—it started with everyone’s favourite wine connoisseur, Dr. Z. And for the record, Brenavin is not moonshine, but Icelandic rot-gut (commercial, mind you) flavoured with caraway seeds. It’s tasty, in a disturbed sort of way. [Big shout-out to Iceland-Viking.]
Gordon was a RFA, who was re-signed. Benny Sapp is the new guy, who, like Jared Allen, came from Kansas City. Now that Tyler Thigpen (remember him, our 7th-round pick out of Coastal Carolina last year?) is rumoured to have been pushing Brodie Croyle in training camp, we can say that the Minnie-K.C. scrimmage last summer had some unforseen consequences. Strange, that.

Icelandair
Icelandair has direct flights to Minneapolis (no excuse for me to miss Vikings home games then!), so you could always come visit and sample some (good with shark).
If you can´t make it out to sample it in person, I can send a bottle for you with my folks when they come there end of July. Disclaimer: Brenavin is not for the feint of heart!

As much as I'd love to visit
A trip to Iceland isn’t in the cards for any time in the near future, unfortunately.

Hey, Iceland-Viking, how long are the days out there this time of year? Would it be out of the question to be downing Brenavin under the midnight sun?
by virginia viking on Jun 23, 2008 1:57 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Technically the day length is 24 hours right now. Sunset is currently 12:03 AM and sunrise is 2:57 AM. The dusk and dawn however are then overlapping between midnight and 3 am, so it stays light through the entire 24 hour period. Just like the Brenavin, the summers here are not for the feint of heart.
It is fairly common to have a shot of Brenavin under the midnight sun, however trying to down Brenavin at any time is not recommended. If one is to “tie one on” here, it can easily lead to a long long night (day?) considering the bars don´t close until 7 or 8 AM, and it stays light out throughout!
