Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

Quick Update

I'll do some Vikings-related stuff sometime later on tonight, provided I feel physically up to doing so.  There's something to be said for NOT doing PT outside when the heat index is approaching the triple digits, but there I was yesterday running 2.5 miles in it anyway.  Hopefully today won't be quite so bad.

However, I just wanted to take another moment to thank you all for what you bring to this site.  A few days ago, we passed two significant milestones in the history of the site.  Those milestones were a quarter of a million hits (we're currently at 251,955 since the site started almost two years ago) and 400,000 page views (currently sitting at 405,140).

During a time when traffic on many football sites is scarce, the past three months (March, April, and May of '08) have been the three biggest months in this site's history in terms of traffic.  To do a small comparison, the site has already received 4,167 hits and 7,349 page views in the first 4+ days of June '08. . .for the entire MONTH of June '07, the site got 5,048 hits and 7,178 page views.  We are definitely moving up in the world for football blogs.

Our comments sections are becoming more active, and our FanPosts and FanShots are becoming more frequent.  I would love to see both of these trends continue, and I can't WAIT to see what the beginning of the season. . .hell, the beginning of the PRE-season. . .is going to bring for us.

Keep it up, folks, and we'll see you back here later on this evening.

Web Site

As a 40+ year Viking fan in Illinois I am greatful for this site. I found it through Viva El Birdos. After enduring 4 losses in a not to mentioned here big game I am looking forward to this season more then any year in a very long time. Thanks for the good work and keep it up.

Increased hits

You got a nice link on a post over at the aol fanhouse site a day or two ago. I’m sure that gave you a nice boost in hits.

This is a great blog. I’ve just signed up so I can finally comment. Keep up the good work.

One Of the First Places I Check.

I probably check into this blog several times a day. Especially right after I get off of work, I check this one and Kansas Viking. I still need to haul my butt up to Salina one of these days to meet Mike.

Anyway, excellent blog you’ve got here and I plan on checking in for quite some time.

Global popularity

Gonzo,

Just thought I’d send a shout out, as well. I grew up in MN but I currently live and work in Beijing, China. I found your site through Google – you are listed #1 on a search for “vikings blog” (congrats!). Anyway, I check your blog daily from work to get my vikings fix as I wait for the season to start, when I will have to wake up at 1am on Monday mornings in order to watch games live.

Just thought I’d let you know that you’re being viewed from around the world. Keep up the good work

Holy crap!

I had no idea that was the case, so I had to go to Google and see for myself. Sure enough, if you search under “Vikings blog” or “Minnesota Vikings blog,” there’s DN at #1. . .even above the Star-Tribune blog!

That is freaking amazing. Thanks for the heads-up!
