Yes, ladies and gentlemen, today is the day that we celebrate the birth of the greatest damn country on the planet. 232 years young, she is.
Today is a day for reflection and celebration. I hope that you and your family are spending today doing both. We're taking the day off over here today, but we'll be back into the swing of things starting tomorrow.

was so happy today to be able to exercise a new priviledge: the senate passed a new amendment to the flag act, which allows active duty and retired military personnel, out of uniform,AND VETERANS, to render a hand-salute to the flag, rather than merely doffing one’s hat. we did not have this priviledge before. they finally got something RIGHT.
