Startin' Up a Posse, Viking Style
And I use that post title with all due respect to the guys from Anthrax.
I've mentioned a couple of times on this board that I fully plan on attending the Vikings' Monday night tilt this October against the New Orleans Saints down in the Big Easy. Now, I'm not sure how many fans of the Beloved Purple we've got down this way, but I'd like to get a bit of a get-together organized at an establishment close to the SuperDome prior to the game.
I realize that there might be a few difficulties associated with this. First, the game is on a Monday night, and I know a lot of folks are going to have to work the next day. Second, I'm not terribly familiar with the city of New Orleans, but I've put a post up over at Canal Street Chronicles to solicit some advice about places close to the stadium that people could get together, maybe enjoy a beverage and some munchies, and talk Vikings football. If any of you folks that plan on attending the game are familiar with the area and have a few suggestions for watering holes near the SuperDome, please feel free to chime in here.
I'm using this to sort of gauge interest in such a gathering. I'll also be posting this at the Purple Thoughts board to see if there's anyone on there interested in going as well.
Thanks in advance to everyone for their time and their participation!

New Orleans
I’m a Vikings fan from up north that has been living in New Orleans for about five years. If I end up getting tickets (Saints tickets aren’t easy to get) and I go to the game I would be up for meeting somewhere. I would also be glad to provide any assistance you need about the city. New Orleans isn’t the kind of place you want to go without knowing what you’re doing.

A Well Kept Secret
We are Vikes fans living Dallas and will be in Nawlins for the game. The last time we played there a group of us partied in this little place around a corner, but dont know the name. We try to attend a couple of away games every year and New Orleans is by far our favorite place to see a game. It is a historic town with serious partying, some of the best food in the USA and the Saints fans are pretty friendly. Just don’t yell “go vikes” to anyone in a purple jersey because LSU’s colors are the same as the Vikings. Let us know, we will meet up with you.

road games
Anyone know if its possible to purchase road game tickets that are viking friendly? I’m from S. Florida and would like to go to the Tampa game, but would prefer sitting with (near) viking fans. Aren’t visiting teams allotted a certain number of tickets? Any help would be appreciated.
