Bryant McKinnie Suspended 4 Games

I first reported this here on August 14th, and now it became a reality.

Per ESPN.com --

Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie has been suspended without pay for the team's first four regular-season games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

McKinnie's suspension begins Saturday, the league announced Friday afternoon. He is eligible to return to the Vikings' active roster on Sept. 29 following Minnesota's Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

McKinnie faces one felony and four misdemeanor charges stemming from a fight outside a Miami nightclub last February. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Minnesota's starting left tackle for the last 87 games dating to the middle of his rookie season, McKinnie has been reprimanded in the past for off-the-field troubles. Most notably, he was fined one game check for his role in a rowdy boat party with several teammates in 2005. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in that incident.

Hope we can make it without him.

The four teams we play first all have their issues of their own. It’s not like Minnesota has a qb thats coming off a surgery-repaired knee , or one of their best lineman going down for the season, or starting a qb who has never ever started 1 GAME in his life in the Nfl, or another qb who is coming off a shoulder surgery. If you ask me, the other four teams line better block well against us, more than we should them, because if they don’t they’ll be in more trouble than the Vikings. Besides the Vikings have the poteintal to beat all four of those teams. (No poteintal against the Packers, It’s already a Vikings win.)

Willie Anderson

I think the Vikings should pick up Willie Anderson not just for McKinnie’s suspension but for the entire year. He is a right tackle and that is the weakest spot on the offfensive line, nothing towards Ryan Cook but he is new to playing right tackle after playing center in college. But, if the Vikings get Willie Anderson you are now talking about one of the best offensive lines in the NFL paving the way for the best running back tandem in the league.
