Adrian Peterson rewarded fantasy owners who drafted him as a rookie last year. He'll be at the top of everyone's draft board for 2008, but there are some other Vikings who can provide some solid value to your team. This fantasy depth chart summary ranks which tier they belong in.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
FANTASY DEPTH CHART
Key:
PTR = Position Tier Rank. This is the tier level where the player should be slotted in most drafts.
1 = Elite Player.
2 = Solid Performer
3 = Backend starter/Bench fill-in
4 = Roster filler or long-term prospect
0 = No value
ITR = In The Rotation
PB = Position Battle
S = Starter
QB PTR
Tarvaris Jackson – S 3
Gus Frerotte 3
John David Booty 4
Brooks Bollinger 4
Summary: Minnesota is a team capable of getting to the Super Bowl if they get, at the very minimum, adequate play from the quarterback position. To put it nicely, Jackson is a huge question mark and certainly not a QB you should be targeting early in your draft. Frerotte may be a better quarterback at this time, but the VIkes are going to live with the learning curve Jackson is going through. If teams overplay on stopping the running game, it could give Jackson some possible oppoertunities to make plays with his arm. He might be worth a gamble as your 2nd QB, if you have a strong QB1.
