If coaching is the problem...

...What should the Vikes do? I've posted earlier my thoughts on Chilly and Tarvaris and the reasons for our passing ineptitude, and have come to the conclusion that there's a disconnect between a rigid offensive philosophy and coaching players to put them in the best position for success. So, what to do?
It's probably too late to find a new offensive coordinator, but maybe there are some options out there. Didn't we bring in midseason help once during Tice's years?
What other options are there? Any QB's available on the street or via trade?

Consultants
I was really impressed with Mike Tice when he brought in the consultants. His humility and openness at the head coaching position was really rare. God I miss him. Forgive us Tice! We knew not what we did!
Childress is way too arrogant to listen to anyone else. He basically told Tony Kornheiser as much in a interview a couple years ago. Basically saying, “[I’m going to do this my way so that if I get fired I’ll have no one to blame but myself]” Well I hope you have fun blaming yourself while you’re unemployed.
Note to the arrogant one. There’s probably a reason Andy Reid didn’t let you call plays, then put your successor in charge of that job.

I'm telling you, the answer is
trade Childress for Shanahan. It’s the only way.

No
I say we make Leslie HC.
Think about it—running the football is mostly about effort, and with AD and Chester in the backfield I could hand them the ball and we’d still get 150 yards rushing. The passing game can’t get any worse than it is now (and for once, that’s not an exaggeration). And the defense will still be coached by the same guy. So why not? If Souhan has figured out that it’s the coaches’ issue, then you know it’s time for a change.

All joking aside
I agree. And we have the O-line make the play calls. At least the smart one. Once Mckinnie is back I cringe at him doing it. Maybe a Birk/Hutchinson playcalling duo. Or maybe Frerotte, a relatively unbiased veteran opinion who’s got nothing else to do on the sideline.
Okay, I might (notice: might) be kidding again. But I’ve finally turned on Childress/Bevell, and Frazier’s the logical midseason successor.
In AP I trust
