Top 7 Reasons for Losing the Game!

7. NO TOUCHDOWNS. Need I say more?

6. Shiancoe dropping the touchdown pass. Good attempt, but good attempts are not good enough. Put stick-em on your gloves or something.

5. Longwell missing his 6th field goal. Man was I surprised that he hit that first 50+ yard field goal. But not the least bit surprised about the 48 yarder. Longwell is a very good kicker...but not the most accurate from that deep. His leg was probably just tired from all the other field goals...but those points would have helped.

4. The Crowd. If you watched this game on television...and had the volume up...then you know what I'm talking about. The crowd was BOOING OUR OWN TEAM. And if you were watching..then you would have noticed that this was occuring WHILE WE HELD A 15-0 LEAD. The crowd went into the stadium just waiting for T-Jax to make a mistake. Our team needed all the support they could get facing a future hall of famer and a superbowl winner of 2 years ago.

3. Bernard Berrian! Did anyone else notice who our worst reciever out there was. I'll tell you who it wasn't. It wasn't Aundrae Allison or Bobby Wade...they stepped up and made plays. Sidney Rice hurt his knee. But Bernard Berrian...dropped pass, tripping on a deep route(or he got his heels clipped?), horribly ran routes or just that great of coverage. I'm not sure, but Berrian did not impress me at all.

2. Brad Childress or Darrell Bevell. I'm not sure who to blame this on. But as has previously been stated on this site...you can't run a prevent offense. The worst 4th quarter play calling I have ever seen in my life.

Before I get to my number one reason we lost the game let me let me give you my Vikings players of the game: the D-Line. Antoine Winfield, Adrian Peterson, and Ryan Longwell.

and now for my number one pick...drum roll please..........................................................

1. CEDRIC GRIFFIN.  That's right. I said it. Not Tarvaris Jackson, he ended up doing a decent job and managed with what was given to him, he doesn't call his own plays. BUT CEDRIC GRIFFIN, I like him, I think he's a decent corner...but as Antoine Winfield said, and we all saw...we played man coverage (practically) all game. And who do you ask was manned up with Anthony Gonzalez EVERY PLAY. Cedric Griffin was given one job all game...cover Gonzalez...9 receptions and 137 yards later I thiink it is safe to say that SOME ONE DID NOT DO THEIR JOB.

And like all other fan posts...I think I have to add a poll to keep with tradition. So here it is.

you got it pretty dead on man. Can’t blame t-jack for this, even though it seems that all of Minnesota already has. Hard loss to watch though.

Brad is not bad...

The problem is not Childress completely. Most of the blame needs to sit on T-Jack. I’ve supported him from day one but now I’m calling for someone who throw the rock into the rcvrs hands and not into their feet. T-jack has potential but no confidence and this needs to change if we are going to move foward.
Why managment didn’t spend money on a quality TE this off-season is beyond me. Shiancoe’s recieving skills are, well poor to be nice.
Right now I’m frustrated with the passing game as a whole. You can’t expect to win many games if you can’t convert 3rd downs.
This lose can be blamed soley on the passing game, or lack there of.

When the only routes

Viking Receivers are running are streaks and hooks, there isn’t much to expect Jackson to do. There were 2 plays wher a skinny post was called- and two plays where it was successful- right at the end of the 1st half.

Did you see that rollout playaction pass to Tahi on 3rd and 7 in the 4th Quarter? Jackson was pressured (only the 6th time the play was called all game…) and threw it to Tahi at the line of scrimmage where he was uncerimoneously tackled immediately. No one was running a route downfield (we’re talking just past the line of scrimmage) on the right side of the field at all.

That’s poor play calling, and there is nothing Tarvaris could’ve done to make that situation better.

The deal at the beginning of the season was that if Jackson didn’t make any big mistakes we should win the game. We were +2 on turnovers, Jackson completed 50% of his passes with no Ints and Peterson ran for 160. There was no reason we should’ve lost that game. Leadership at the top- Childress- brought us down.

Chilly is startin off chilly...

We’re not startin off hot and thats because of a QB who lacks playmaking ability and I couldn’t agree more with the top 7 reasons. I thought Cedric Griffin played terrible, all around still not a good corner in my mind. I think he’s garbage and we need madieu back at safety. The rook is ok but we need to shut down the pass for good. I hope CHILLY is evaluating that QB spot cuz if T-Jack puts up a pathetic 150 yards this game and no TD’s we better do something!!!!!!!!!

Just making a guess

I’m a Colts fan first but the Vikings are without a doubt my #2 team/NFC team to root for. I was shocked that the Vikes fans were booing Tavaris with such a big lead. I thought it was philly there for a moment, just ridiculous. He did make some awful plays at times like throwing the ball where no one was and then looking confused as if he thought the reciever was going to break a different direction but still. That’s exactly what the Colts wanted was for the crowd to get in Tavaris’s head. Still, he’s looked decent both last week and this week, give him a little time and I think he’ll still lead the Vikes to the post season. However, if he loses again next week I won’t be shocked to hear the crowd chanting GUS GUS GUS GUS!!!

Peyton's good but have you ever heard of Jeff George?

fan boo's

Ok… I was at the game, and wasn’t boo’ing, (I don’t boo our own team) but I don’t think it was unwarranted. They boo’ed when Jackson threw the ball at receivers feet on third down, when he threw the ball behind receivers on third down, and when he immediately (Without looking at his other reads) threw to Chester Taylor a yard and a half in front of him, with the defensive line still around him, on third and long situations.

The truth is, he wasn’t getting boo’ed until it was ABSOLUTELY apparent to the fans at the game, that Jackson was not going to make any big plays for us.

I’ll still continue to not boo, but I’ll certainly complain over and over again to the people sitting around me!

At the end of last season, I was calling for Chilly’s bald head and a big move at QB. Neither happened, and fans on blogs all around the net convinced me that “Everything would be fine… just chill out.” Well, everything is not fine, and it’s really hard to stay chilled out at this point. Football is life to some people, and it’s usually those people that spend the most money on their team (tickets, food, beverages, apparel, memorobilia, etc.) Answer the fans’ calls Zygi!!

I AGREE

about the booing. I know it’s hard to express your disappointment in other ways but booing is not the Minnesotans way. We are not Philly, New York or any other of the top 10 rudest cities in the country so as fans we need to stop the booing and support the team through the good and the bad. If you want to express your emotions then sign the petition or take it out on a bar after the game.

the booing was crap...

winning is winning, i’ll take a field goal… not 5 of them!!! Jesus go get the win, but the fork in them when they’re down… finish em off.
