I couldn;t have been the only one who was screaming at that d*ck when he dives into the back of AD's knees 15 yrds down field!!

It's one thing for a little chicken sh*t DB to dive into a guys knees (see Al Harris) but Mathis is a 240+ lb defensive end!!!!!

Dirty SOB, I hope the Vikings send a tape to the league on this guy. I'm not sure why plays like that are not called as a penalty. It's just as dangerous to dive into the back of someones knees then it is to horse collar someone!

I hear ya

I was at the game, and everybody around me was going nuts over this. It happened on three occasions, from what I saw. A defensive player is trying to wrap up AP, and a second defender comes diving in at the back of his knee to “assist with the tackle”. Most defenders get their rocks off of lighting the guy with the ball up and popping his helmet off… when All Day is on the field, players intentionally abandon that “basic instinct” mentality of popping a hit to the chest or ball carrying arm, and go directly for his knees. It’s very sad, and will probably lead to another knee injury for Adrian… but, hey… all they’ll say is, “It’s a legal hit”.

I don't think there is anything 'legal'

about diving into the BACK of someones knees, especially when they are already being engaged by someone else as Peterson was in this case.

Now, if you were diving at the front or side of somebody’s knees, that would be a different story.

I wonder why blocking in the back is illegal and clipping is a penalty? After all, your knees bend that way!

Sounds like you should take up your complaint with the NFL Official’s office. It happened on at least three occasions Sunday, and was not called once… so It obviously isn’t an illegal hit. As pissed off as I am about it, and think it SHOULD be illegal… it’s not right now… so teams will continue to play dirty as hell, and do it. No sense getting feisty with us about it… we’re all rooting for the same guy!
