wow!

what a difference a "C" level qb can make for an otherwise great team. gus performed admirably today. he made the throws jacko couldn't. there was a zip on his passes that you don't see from jacko. e.j. henderson is a beast! holy crap can that man play football!!! i hope gus can continue his level of play but i do believe we need to bring in garcia if at all possible. what we do not need is jacko back on the field. also, i am hoping for a turn around this season BUT, i don't want a turn around to save chilly's job.

NO!

Absolutely do not touch this offense. It is fine. I will be a man and admit I was wrong saying it was Chilly holding T-Jack back. It was clearly T Jack not having the trust of the coaches and thus, not having a very deep playbook. What was with the downing it on 4th at the end of the game though? Why not kick the 3, kickoff and give them the ball exactly where they had it after the turnover? Fear of blocked FG/kick return? In Gus we trust until the end of the season.

Don't get carried away

It’s one game. If Chilly’s offense—and play calling—were so great, Brad Johnson would have done better. TJax would have done better. Frerotte would have done better. Who knows how much of what we saw today was Frerotte making something happen himself versus brilliant playcalling.

As Vikings fans, we know what a great system looks like. Think the Denny Green years, or the Linehan years. Chilly has not even come close to that in his time here, at least with QB play.

If Childress is so wise and great and everything was TJ's fault

because TJ is a terrible Qb, then why did Chilly start him the first few games. What does not make sense to me is that they said they started the QB that gave them the best chance to win yet they don’t trust him with any plays.

I agree, this is just one game and we should not be so quick to have the wool pulled over our eyes.

Why wouldn't HE?!?!

Just like the pack did with rogers and turned away brett… Chilly decided and stuck with T-Jack. He looked good through training camp and ever better in the preseason, but managing a whole regular season game is just too much for T-Jack. You can’t even say its chilly’s fault for what happened. T-Jack couldn’t have completed 1/2 those throws gus had. It was an amazing relief. We looked great and thats all we need out of gus. Our defense will win games and our running game will win games. We look great!

The question is. . . what happens next year now? What if Gus doesn’t stick around for another season? We’re back to Jackson… I don’t want to say those losses were all him. They weren’t. The recievers had the drops those first two games, and they had it the first half of this game from what I saw.

Don’t touch the offense? Why not? We need TDs. One offensive TD in 2 games is not going to cut it.

I think that Gus

Signed a 2-year deal this off-season. So he’s here for next season, too. I’m pretty sure he did, anyway.

Worst case, Gus starts in 2009, too, while we groom someone else to take over the offense in 2010.

I don’t know how long it was, but if he retires after this season that contract doesn’t matter. That’s why He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named wasn’t able to come over to us, because he had retired while still under contract, so the (fudge) Packers still owned his rights.

Grooming somebody is fine by me though. Since we’ve won this game without Jackson, maybe Childress will finally see that we can survive without the wonderboy.

I think

we wont waste any more season’s hoping on a young high draft pick to develope. We’ll go get a fine free agent QB or go out and persue a QB in the draft. and if we keep this up and make the playoffs, gus will stick with us for another season.

We're 1-2

We just won a game at home, with the help of: a potential int dropped early in the game, a kickoff return called back because of a questionable block-in-the back, and 2 fumbles that we recovered (Allison and Taylor).

And let’s not forget that our offense scored 13 points this week with Gus at the helm instead of Jackson.

These are facts.

Go Vikes!! Childress is the man!!! Let’s ride him to the Super Bowl!!!
