TENNESSEE! Win or Lose?!?!
Facing an undefeated team that is suspect. Titans first 3 opponents are a collective 1-7. Vikings first 3 opponents are 5-4. Titans D has been brutailizing the beat up O line of Jags, the inept Bungles and the Texans who have been distrupted by hurricane Ike. Their D was leading in run D mainly by reason of poor quality run games by their opponents. Then they got gashed by Houston. Pash rush of the Vikings will be a factor. Pressure on Kerry Collins has always led to him making mistakes. That's why he keeps losing starting jobs.
All I heard today on the National ESPN broadcast was how great Tennessee is--How great their defense is--How they have stars at each position--how theyre the the 2nd best team behind Dallas--damn after three games they beat Jacksonville 17-10, beat Cincinnati 24-7, and beat Houston 31-12--not exactly a world class schedule to say theyre the best out there---The defense is very good I will give them that--Kyle Vanden Bouch--and Albert Haynesworth make them that way--but the offense?? These guys will be lucky to rush for any where near 50 yards--if that comes true and Collins is forced to pass itll be like last week against Carolina--sack city--The Purple's offense is going to have the best ground attack that these guys will face all year long which will open it up even more for Gus for even a bigger day. Vikings go 2-2 and leave the Titans with their first loss of the season 31-10.

you're dreaming
if you think you’re going to score 24 in tennessee. don’t get me wrong, i’ve always been a closet vikes fan (can’t help it, i love the horn) and ap’s sick, but we’ve got the best run defense in the league and the league leader in interceptions. the only way you win this one is if its a low scoring game. and thats not going to happen ;-)

Your boys...
Have the best run defense because you’ve faced Fred Taylor, Chris Perry, and Ahmad Green.

Exactally
Only team the Titans have played with semi-good running backs is Jax and thier O-line is so tore up that it was no wonder they didn’t win thier first game of the season nor do very well rushing.
Sunday is going to be a different story. If memory serves me correctly, which I know it does since I went and looked it up also you guys didn’t even make the top 15 of run defenses last year.
I’m not trying to be a dick, I’m just saying, Andersklasen has it right, you guys are actually going to be facing a good O-line with 2 interchangable backs.
I think the game will be close but I think we have the talent to put another 12 minute second half drive together.

Who is ahmad green?
if you mean ahman green, he was hurt and did not play. so strike one. the toughest running back we’ve faced so far is steve slaton. strike two. and you did not mention the way we shut down both fred taylor and maurice jones-drew. strike three. check your facts before you spout off crap like that again.
It's our year.

YOUR NUTS!!!!
If you honestly think the titans have a chance at all your too much of a titans fan. Our defense is TOO good. Too good at the run. You guys have extremely FAT white and that chris brown and your rookie. It doesn’t matter who they are. They wont run on us. And if your relying on Kerry Collins to throw it up against us u gotta better shot at winning the superbowl this year LMAO!!! lol so sorry vancouverTITAN but 3-1 is right around the corner buddy.

Wow
base you’re opinion of a whole fan base and state on just a couple guys you don’t like. That’s cool. It’s almost like you want us to think the same thing about Tennessee and Titans fan by acting like the assholes you’re bitching about.

Win
By 10 again. I just don’t see a Kerry Collins offense torching us or Lendale Cheeseburger White runing on us. The Panthers fans thought they were going to run it down our throats too…how does 47 yards sound?

My prediction is
20-7 for the vikings. We’ll put together another day just like we did against Carolina. 1 offensive TD, 2 field goals and this time a pick 6. Tennesee like everyone else will not run successfully against the Four norseman, which creates clear passing downs which allows our D to play “pin your ears back” pass D against…..Kerry Collins. They will put one solid drive together after a MN turnover.

I agree 100% but...
take away 1 of those two field goals (give it to them) and have GUS throw for one and we’ll let A.P take one too! lol 24-10!

I think
This is going to be a closer game than most of us would like to admit, somewhere in the 18-24 point range for each team.
I agree that we’ll find out just how good Tennessee’s rush defense is when they face Purple Jesus, Chester “I Take Names” Taylor, and our O-Line.
Two things do bother me, though: I still have nightmares about what Kerry Collins did to us during 41-donut, and until the Vikes take it to him like they did Delhomme I’m not counting him out. And now that the Titans D has film on Frerotte, the defensive chess match begins. How long until the NFL figures out how to neutralize Frerotte’s passing abilities and force us to adjust? Fisher and the Titans have a good pedigree on D. Just sayin.

If they ’’neutralize’’ Gussy’s passing ability that means they play the saftey back and back off the box…opening up the run game. That is what we want them to do….

tennessee who
THE WAY I SEE IT WE HAVE ALMOST EXACT TEAMS IN EXEPTION THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE A LITLE BETTER DEFENSE. BUT WE BOTH HAVE A STELLAR D-LINE, A GOOD LINE BACKER CORE THERES MIGHT BE JUST A LITTLE BETTER, AND SOLID SECONDARYS, WHICH I THINK WE GET THE NOD FOR SLIGHTLY BETTER. DONT GET ME WRONG TITANS FANS, BUT FINNEGAN IS NOT AS GOOD AS YOU THINK, I WILL GIVE HIM PROPS FOR HIS FIRST TWO WHERE HE DID TAKE A BALL FROM FORMER VIKE T. WOODEN HANDS WILLIAMSON, BUT WHO CANT DO THAT? AND HE PLAY A SLANT TO THE “T” AGAINST THE JAGS FOR HIS SECOND. BUT THATS WERE IT STOPS. HIS NEXT TWO PICKS WERE IN MY OPOINION, A MATTER OF HI M BEING IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. EXPECIALLY HIS LAST ONE AGAINST SCHAUB. IF THAT WASNT A FREE BE I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. ANY WAYS NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY ARE A TAD OVER RATED. VIKES SECONDAY IS PLAYING A LOT BETTER THAN LAST YEAR AND WE WILL GET SO MUCH BETTER WHEN MADIEAU WILLIAMS FINNALLY SHOWS UP. I EXPECT THIS ONE TO BE A CLOSE DEFENSIVE BATTLE WHERE THE VIKES ETCH OUT THE TITANS BY SIX. VIKINGS: 16 TITANS:10

Titans meet their match
I’ll give it to Tennessee. They’ve really pulled together, and have been playing some pretty good ball, despite all the VY drama. However, as so many others have pointed out… in comes Adrian Peterson.
I like AFC games because until we get back around to the AFC West in a couple years, these teams have never had to gameplan for the likes of Adrian Peterson. A majority of our NFC matchups have. I believe, much like Indianapolis two weeks ago, that Tennessee will have a lot of trouble stopping AP. Also, we’re approaching the 1/4 mark of the season already, and Peterson hasn’t broke a huge one yet… you KNOW he is due. This is the game. Titans D is scrambling to figure out how to get All Day to stop running all over them, and Gus is able to find receivers open amidst the confusion and run focus.
LenDale White will be completely shut down by the Vikings Defense. That is a fact. Tennessee is going to have to hope for some lightning from Chris Johnson if their running game is going to be a factor at all. It won’t be.
I predict a couple of heated exchanges are bound to occur, because both teams are gonna be playing this one with all they got.
Vikings in a bit of a bloodbath… 27 – 13

Like I said
Sorry to break it to you, but your about to play a team with a REAL defense. What’s going to happen when AP is shut down, and I mean SHUT down, and Gus F., has to throw 30-40 passes against a great secondary, unlike yours. Maybe if you guys can hit 60 yard field goals, about 9 times, you have a chance, other than that, you don’t stand a chance.

sorry
i just realized it wasnt a font error i had cap locks on. i agree with what vike 83 said about how it may be difficult for the afc to prepare for are king in purple, but rest assure this is the nfl and teams will gameplan by using other teams footage against us if they havent played ap. there not gonna know on the field how to stop him but on paper this team will study hard and do there best to stop us. they know where gonna run so expect chilly to throw sooner than later. i think we can honestly win the up the middle run against this line as hutch and birk the jerk are there. however the match up i really worry about is kyle vanden bosch vs. artis hicks. we cant really afford to pull hutch to much to doudle team him be cuz of haynesworth. so artis hicks really needs to win this battle especially in passing situations. frerotte does get sacked quite a bit but does ussually shake it off. but we cannot afford sacks against a hard defense like the titans. how ever i truly believe we when this battle, freroote will have enough time to stand back there and strike. i look forward to berrian running routes on finnegans overrated ass. and does any one know the status of rice i really think we could use him this game. and too rhino6705 that real defense couldnt evenstop houstons second stringer slaton. AP has done nothing but get better since last year and is going to nothing but get better aginst that defense so as long as he gets 80 yards frerotte gets 180 wiil win the game. ur offense has to score too buddy not ur defense. what u expect collins to throw for 250 yds with justin mcslow, and b juggles brandon jones. pleeeeeeeeeeease and lendale plus c johnson will be lucky to get 80 together. if u play against us like u played the houstons it will be a blow out. GO VIKES!!!!

Everybody's so obviously biased
It makes me laugh. We assume their offense blows because it’s Collins and White, they think they’ll shut down AP and Gus. Everybody’s got their colored shades on.
Including me. AP gets around 100 and a score, Gus tosses for 175 and a score (long as it’s not thrown to Shank), and we get two field goals. They have no running game but if they can slow the rush (notice the if) he’ll have a pretty good passing game, two scores. And they get a field goal. 20-17. Yay for the Purple Shades.
In AP I trust

Hit enter a little too soon lol. ANYWAYS!
Titans’ D isn’t as bad as some of you think. It’s also not as godly as some of you think. Have they played a good, non-banged up, offense yet? They’ve played Jacksonville, who’s line was almost completely trashed, the Texans, and Cincinnati, who’s offense hasn’t pulled it together. Now, you guys won the game, which is what matters, but you haven’t played an Adrian Peterson type of RB yet. And Chester Taylor isn’t a slouch either. The Titans’ run D is going to have to be on its A game ALL game. Of course, our offense has been terrible lately. The Carolina game? Don’t even kid yourselves, that was a terrible outting by the offense. I just don’t think we’re going to score as high as anyone thinks on here. I can see us getting 15 points and the TD drought continuing.
Titans’ offensive versus our defense. Sorry, but you guys aren’t going to be able to move the ball at will against us. Don’t expect 31 points again. I’d say you get 13 points, as long as we can keep the explosive plays to a minimum on defense, like we did in the last game against a better offense because, honestly, no one is afraid of tenessee’s recievers. You might get 20 points with a TD return for an int though, to be honest. I don’t trust Gus’ passing as much as some people. He’s a journeyman QB for a reason after all.
Now, honestly, I see the Titans taking this one. 18-15. It’ll be a close game, no doubt. Whosever defense makes more plays is going to take the win, the offenses are suspect.

lol That’s stupid. If that were true the Patriots wouldn’t have lost to the Giants in the SB, and every 1-0 team would beat ever 0-1 team. It doesn’t happen like that. Besides, it’s too early for records to say who you are. Some teams have drawn up easier opponents in the first three weeks (like the AHEM titans) and some teams have faced all playoff caliber teams ( like the AHEM vikings).
by Frost on Sep 24, 2008 1:36 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
o wow
ok if it is gonna be a game about records we should at least look at the teams combined records that you played. that in my opinion dictates the kind of talent the team has actually had to play. i know its been said already but the titans are coming in 3-0 angainst teams that combined for a record of 1-7. the vikes have lost twice but honestly against teams that state a 5-4 record. slightly over .500. i like our chances. we lost a heart breaker to indy were if we had a qb we would have one that game. same thing with the faggot packers. frerotte is also 2-0 against collins. plus we shut down a way more potent carolina team.
