Screw You, Brad Childress
Two minutes left in the ball game.
No time outs.
Down by two scores.
And you punt the football away.
Good thinking, you wuss. You candy ass. You complete freaking joke of a head coach.
Brad Childress should be fired before the Vikings leave the visitors locker room at LP Field this afternoon. What an absolute freaking disgrace.

The penalties and turnovers put too much pressure on Frerote – he made some great throws today.
However, the receivers missed SOOO MANY CATCHES!!! Butterfinger Vikings better find some glue before heading to the superdome…

Again a Testament to Childress
I know Chilly was “easy-on-the-guys” this Preseason/Training Camp, but does the man run any practices during the week? Seriously, I would cut out “watching tape” from the Viking’s vocabulary and schedule this week. Did the receivers and Jackson- I er mean Frerotte, er, I mean Jackson- develop any repoire this offseason? He needs to be held accountable!

Not Millen. I’m most definitely anti-Clueless, but I live in Lionland, and we do NOT want Millen.
I’m assuming you’re joking, but still. No Millen. Ever.

And furthermore...
Just last week, with the Vikes ahead by 10, and Carolina on their own 18 yard line, on 4th and 27, with just under three minutes to play, Carolina went for it.
Dear Childress,
Grow a pair.
Sincerely,

On and On and On- you are so right Gonzo
If I had the tape to this game I would go through each miscue, and each terrible call that Childress made this week and post it. He didn’t even look like he knew what he was doing on the sidelines. And he said Jackson had lost the fire to play and didn’t have the right attitude. What a joke!

VANCOUVER VIKINGS
PUNT BRAD CHILDRESS THROUGH THE PHUKKIN ENDZONE, WHAT WE NEED IS MARTY SHOTENHEIMER, NOT THIS TOOL . ANYWAY I CANT HELP BUT NOTICE THIS TEAM HAS TROUBLE OUTDOORS, THEY SEEM TO BE LOST AND LOSE THE GAME ON FUMBLES THE WAY THEY DID TODAY. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION, ANOTHER FIELD, DOES NOT SEEM POSSIBLE IN MINNI. WE ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE ALL SO THIS TEAM CAN WIN NO? THEN WHY NOT MOVE THE TEAM! YES MOVE THE TEAM WHERE WE CAN HAVE A FIELD AND HAVE A WINNER. MOVE THE VIKINGS TO VANCOUVER AND WE WILL BUILD A FIELD AND WE WILL GIVE YOU A WINNER. VANCOUVER VIKINGS JUST SOUND BETTER NO? I LOVE THIS TEAM AND I CAN BARE TO SEE THEM LOSE LIKE THIS! MOVE THEM, PUNT CHILDRESS EVEN THO IT WAS NOT HIS FAULT TODAY

Wrong- it was TOTALLY Childress's fault today
Dropped Passes and fumbles of the number that we had equate to LACK OF PREPARATION. In essence, Childress FAILED to prepare this team through practice- including training camp and preseason.
Poor playcalling, only calling playaction passes 2 weeks ago, to not calling any today. Failing to call passes over 6 yards in the first 2 weeks. Terrible playcalling today (3rd and 1- lining up in Shotgun for an incomplete pass, 4th down with 2:30 left and down by 2 scores-punting the ball, it goes on and on!) along with each game thus far.
Scapegoating his own players for his own failures rather than admit his terrible playcalling- no wonder the team doesn’t trust him!
Childress needs to go because HE’S THE CAUSE of our troubles, we need a NEW solution.
Shotenheimer sounds good, although I’m in favor of Billick. Shotty has worked with a young QB and a strong RB and solid Defense before and had a great amount of success.

This is pathetic; why waste the talent and money with a coach who couldn’t run a Pop Warner offense. Fire Childress, promote Frasier and try to lure Bill Cowhger out of retirement next year.

Endure
How many freekin years must we indure this putrid style of football? It’s boring, it’s stale, it’s conservative, it’ ineffective and it is so damn painful to watch. Are the Vikings the new freekin Lions. Are we going to keep eating the same confinement loaf? Change something but start with the coach. If I owe this team and spent what Ziggy did you know heads would roll. Please take this guy off life support.

Little Gonzo Needs A Nap
Childress did not coach his players to fumble away the ball repetitively in Titan territory.
Childress did not ask the refs to give the Titan’s a first down on their 4th and one try because he felt they almost made it and he knew such a bad call would make the Titan home fans happy.
The the Viking’s offense outgained the Titan’s. The difference in the game was turnovers. T-U-R-N-O-V-E-R-S. Ever heard of them? Even the penalties could have been overcome.
The game was over at the end, Gonzo. You were just too blind to see it. The only way the Vikings come back is if somebody foolishly fumbles Kluwe’s punt. That didn’t happen. Miracles usually don’t happen, even in Music City.
Fumbles kill; end of story; game over.
Now all of you go to your rooms if you’re going pout.

Whatever
If you’re okay with a coach running the white flag up the pole at his earliest convenience, then that’s your issue.
I, on the other hand, am not.
This was every bit as pathetic and insulting as Denny Green taking a knee in the ’98 NFC Championship Game.

Elgar is just as delusional as the coach
Re: Coaching players to fumble – One of those fumbles was by Nahfau Tahi. Remember how we cut Tony Richardson to bring in Tapeh, an ex-Eagle? That’s a Childress move right there… Then Tapeh sucks, so we’re stuck with Tahi. Maybe if Childress doesn’t have a mancrush on the Eagles’ scrap heap, we’re not talking about our FB fumbling.
Re: Horrible officiating call – I don’t think anybody’s trying to say that’s baldy’s fault, especially since he did challenge it as he should’ve.
Re: Turnovers – Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t all but one of the turnovers lost by players that Childress felt we needed because they were “on the come”, among other things (Tahi, Shiancoe, Wade)? These are Childress’ guys that are causing us to get shot in the foot.
You’re just like Childress… Always willing to throw everybody else under the bus, but never hold the coach accountable. Tell me, do you like a vanilla, predictable playcalling scheme that hasn’t changed but one iota since 2006? Do you like that Childress is so stubborn that he/Foley traded up to reach for Tarvaris? Chilly is allegedly a QB guru, but Tarvaris is still light years away from being competent. If you think it’s because he needs more time, then it’s on Childress for not having a stopgap solution and/or putting in Tarvaris too early. If not, then again, it’s on Childress for selling us false hope that he cold actually develop a quarterback.
Let’s also not forget that we had delay of game and timeouts taken on the first play of a drive. THE FIRST PLAY! With TV timeouts and 25 seconds on the play clock, how the hell do you not know what to do, especially when the coach, swimming in his own stubbornness, refuses to allow his QB to change the play? Failure to prepare… Failure to execute… Lack of discipline… Giving up at the end… That’s on Childress. Even though you, like baldy, refuse to hold the head coach accountable, the rest of us whose IQ is high enough to outwit a clump of moist soil will place blame where it is most deserving.
And with that, I say fuck you, Brad Childress.

Moronic Vikings coaches
Thank you Brad Childress. Today you boke the moronic coach decision record. I mean Denny Green had “take a knee” I thought that would live forever. But to just concede the game when you still have a chance???? At least Denny had a 50-50 proposition going.
Why do the Vikings get all these brainiacs???
Hey Wilf family….when hiring the next head coach, perhaps you should make them take a wunderlich test. Childress is in the Vince Young catagory.

Elgar aka Brad Chidlress
I have never, ever, I mean never freakin seen a NFL coach give up until it was over. When there are over 2 minutes left, there is time for two scores. This was a first for me to see a NFL coach give up while there was still a chance. Just my frigging luck that it happened to be a vikings coach.
From take a knee to just give up….what a legacy.

Season is done anyway so don't do what other owners do Zigi
Most owners wait until the season is over to fire these idiots, but remember, Zigi is the idiot who hired the idiot.
See coaching for Dummies, by Brad Childress. Chapter 1 – how to land a job as a head coach –
" Hi Zigi, here’s my plan", says Bradley C. " We first install an overly complicated offense that’s been pretty much figured out by using the Tampa 2/ cover 2. Then we bring in a slow learner and have him lead the team. I’m sure it will work but just in case, we’ll bring in a veteran QB who really doesn’t have a lot of West Coast offense experience. But now to worry, we’ll only call the same 15 plays week in and week out so we are assured of fewer penalties. What do you think?"
Zigi, astounded at this sheer genius, would have undoubtedly responded, “And no one has hired you as a head coach before? I can’t believe my luck.”
So how did we do this week on the game plan?
Man on Man coverage, with our corners? Antoine Winfield is only good for tackling after the catch in Man on Man D and we all saw what Cedric can (can’t) do. These guys are zone corners. Did Frazier take a page from Chilly’s game planning strategy book?
Another week of abysmal special teams play yet after the game Chilly said he didn’t think they played that poorly.
Week four of amateur hour on the offensive game planning. Even Jimmy Johnson asked if the game strategy was always to play from behind? HA!
As for the players –
How many penalties were called?
4 turnovers?
Absolutely as undisciplined as your average Oakland team.
Undisciplined = unprofessional.
Is this the second week Tahi fumbled?
Is this the second week Berrian dropped a critical pass?
The entire defensive line is waaaay overrated.
Does 69 know what the word contain means?
Childress, to call you an imbecile is an insult to imbeciles everywhere. You are an administrator. Find a managerial position where you can inflict your stubborn ways on only a lucky few and suck the life out of them instead. On the bright side, you’ll be able to dock workers for taking excessive funeral leave without having to worry about bad publicity. 30 years of football experience and this is your best effort?
Maybe Zigi has an opening in accounts receivable somewhere.

Fire more than CHildress....
Special Teams…..fire them, too
and the dropped balls….again
and the penalties…..
and finally, the THREE lost fumbles…..
that crap ain’t coached…..
I refuse to waste another Sunday afternoon watching that bald head phucker mess up games…..there’s a lot more to be fixed on this team than the Head Coach, but that would be a wonderful start….

Lack of preparation = Pressure from ownership?
Or is Childress in the process of losing a veteran team? Berrian has looked out of it all season. In fact, short of Bobby Wade and, (drops and all), Visanthe Shiancoe, all the receivers this year haven’t played with any passion or urgency.
The offensive line seemed deflated today, and Gus is doing what he can but even he knows the writing was already on the wall the day he was named starter.
The defense has carried this team the last two seasons, and today—for the first time—I began to wonder if they were losing faith in Childress’ offense and ability to lead this team. If we lose the heart of the defense, we are done.
I’d love to know what Matt Birk is thinking right now.

Good Point
I think he’s lost the respect of his players.
They are unfocused and not very passionate.
The game today reminded me of a bunch of “personal battles” between players but none of them really had a shared vision.

I Agree Gonzo
The Head Coach is responsible for all of the listed: Fumbles, Dropped Passes, Using Too Much Time Penalties, Poor Playcalling, etc. It all comes down to preparation, and this team hasn’t been prepared all year.
We looked good last week, but I believe that was an anomaly. Les Steckel even managed to win 3 games despite his ineptness.
If Zygi doesn’t can Childress soon, I’ll begin (actually, I have already begun) to doubt his commitment to the MINNESOTA Vikings. Maybe the ineptness of the coaching staff and not being able to sell out home games would be his justification for moving the team.
Just my thoughts.

Fear
The Vikings personnel are like those Vikings of yesteryear… they have battleaxes and are not afraid to lop off heads and put FEAR into their opponents. What defense wants to go up against Peterson & Taylor?
Brad Childress is instead trying to turn the Vikings into the French. Take his West Coast Offense and his little pointy swords and make the opponent bleed from small cuts.
Instead, defenses are laughing.
