Breacking News!

Lane Kiffin, as has been expected for about 2 weeks now has been officialy fired as the Raiders HC.  We should act fast in bringing him in as our new OC.  meny want us to get Linnehan, but I like Kiffin a little better as our OC, in part because he is familier with the West Coast Offense that we are currently built around.  He would give us the most seemless transition, that is if you can have a seemless transition mid season.

Also, our QB and Wide Recievers coaches must go, they are not preparing the players under their supporvision to play at the NFL lvl.  I just don't know who you get top replace them at this stage, so if not now, then at the end of the season.

Kiffin belongs in NCAA

While he may get some looks as a coordinator in the League, Kiffin will get an NCAA head job before kickoff 2009. His experience at USC, his recruiting abilities and even getting his feet wet in the NFL will make him a great candidate at someplace like Syarcuse, Wash St or Pitt.

what you say here can, and will, be used against you

that may be, but he would still be a step up over bevell as the OC, and he is familier with the WCO which we currently run (or at least run the retarded step child of). this means that the players won’t have to learn a whole new scheme mid season. While i am pretty sure that Linnahan does not. So for a mid season OC that could be problematic. In any case, he won’t get a college HC job this season which makes him available, even if it is only for the rest of the season. Also, if Lane wants to be a NFL HC, spending 2-3 yrs as the OC of a talanted team that is/will be a playoff contender (with better leadership), would certainly help him get looked at again. being an OC for a contender might be his only shot at getting another look at an NFL HC job.

NOT LINNEHAN!!!!

Are we so quick to forget the absolutely retarded calls he made as OC back in his Vikings days?

Kiffin may be an idea for a new head coach. I was surprised that he was able to win one game with the Oakland management structure . . . imagine what he could do with an organization that didn’t treat the head coach as a figurehead. Just an idea, anything is better than Clueless.

how about kiffin as HC?

he managed to get a win with the players they got in oakland, if he was here we would be 3-1 or 4-0

Thanks for remembering

I couldn’t believe when St. Louis hired Linehan as head coach, or for that matter, when Miami hired him as their offensive coordinator after we’d had enough of him. Linehan might be the only coach in the NFL I would rank below Childress.

Kiffin, why not. He’s got the local angle and I’m impressed with how he handled the black hole.

I’d prefer Bill Cowher or another with a proven record, I’d even like to see Mike Tice welcomed back—although I don’t think Zigi could swallow his pride enough to do that.

Fire Childress!

WCO

Please, get rid of the West Coast Offense. This is one reason we are failing. The second is that it has been around, what, 25 years and is OLD at this point. Most of the defenses can shut it down quite well, and it isn’t all that conducive to fantastic running back talent.

Yep, Childress still thinks it’s a good idea.

I read somewhere that switching back to Power Offenses would be a good idea, since all the defenses, or most anyways, are built for speed to stop the recievers and whatnot in the WCO, and aren’t necessarily very strong.

Anyways, yeah, I hope we can bring in Kiffin. He took that terrible raider offense and made it decent. He’d have at least 2 more wins this season, but the D-coord couldn’t keep them in the lead. We happen to have a good defense. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

I think Frazier is the Man

to replace Childress as HC, other wise, I think we lose him to some other team come end of season. let’s stop having our DC go else where to become great HC. instead lets promote from with in when we have got one. but still breing in Lane to be the OC. I think that he won’t get an other HC job elsewhere. at least not for a few years, and being our OC could give him that opportunity 2-3 years down the road. but most definetly lets not lose the most talanted coach we have, and have to start all over with the DC next year.
