Please No Blackout...Please no Blackout...Please No Blackout!!!!!! I cant think of any more words to fill the 75 word minimum.

I bet KMSP will buy the rest.
They’ve done it before and it makes sense for them to buy up the tickets for ad revenue.

ok sorry guys...
but this really is getting ridiculous. Wouldn’t almost be better for team to lower prices to like 10 bucks so that it doesnt get blacked out and also have the most possible vikings fans?
Is there a rule against that?
If you can't sell out a playoff game, should you lose the right to have a home game?

I don't think it is all about ticket prices!
The papers are giving several reasons. Honestly, the dome is a horrible football venue. I would rather miss the game entirely than sit in the upper deck of that archaic building. You need binoculars to feel apart of the action.

The upper deck is sold out
It’s all low level seats remaining. Tickets at this point are $80, $120, or $160
When you go to somebody's house, you don't crap on their floor. Being a fan of one team does NOT give you license to be a dick to fans of another.

I completely disagree...
the Dome is not a great venue overall but I truly believe that there is not a bad seat in the house except for the ones that are obstructed view. I can see everything just fine in the upper deck of the dome. I Don’t know what you’re talking about.

Selling better
If they sold 5000 tickets since this morning (I believe it was at 8000 last I heard), I think there will be a good chance they’ll be able to sell the rest by tommorrow.
You know, this story is everything that’s wrong with national media (and really exposes PFT as to why no one really takes them seriously, as well as what a cesspool that place has become in the comments section. My goodness there are some dumb, dumb people over there.) Everyone wanted to jump at the chance to say how embarassing and terrible it is that Minnesotan’s won’t go to the game, but no one bothered to do a little research into the situation. All the tales of the circumstances surrounding season ticket holders not easily being able to get their money back if the team didn’t make it. The economy, which isn’t doing nice things to the upper midwest. And a quick check of the weather report shows a fairly decent sized snow storm moving in tomorrow night. Now, it should be cleared up by Sunday, but snow storms around here have a tendency to change at the last minute. Its no wonder this thing isn’t selling out quickly.
I also have to say one more time, PFT really sucks.

Because Minneapolis is not Philadelphia. Minnesota as a state has approximately 5 million people while Philadelphia as a greater metro area has nearly as much. You talk as if the fan bases are somehow inherently equal in size…That every team in the league has the same number of fans which just isnt true.
All this talk about the Minnesota Vikings fanbase being terrible or bandwagoners or pathetic or whatever because we didn’t sell out in 5 minutes is total bullshit. Many of the people who regularly attend vikings games dont live in the greater twin cities area and if they cant make it to the game then its gonna take a little extra time to sell it out.
There is just the fact that the vikes have not held a home playoff game in awhile and it may just be a case of unfamiliarity slowing down the process. The tickets are moving. Having 3,000 left only means that theres less than 5% unsold in week of effort. Whoopty doo!
Economy is down. People got bills to pay and if a vikings playoff game doesnt fit into the budget it just doesnt fit. Sorry, if we’re not all rich pennsylvanians or die hard psycho’s.
……and sometimes the situation is like my own – I live in South Dakota and I have an all day Monday business meeting 7 hours away and I cant make it to the game no matter how much i’d like to……
…I guess i’ll just have to hope for a vikings home NFC championship game to go to…….:-)

Even living in Minnesota you can have quite a drive to the MSP area.
I live 2 hours away, and you bet your ass if I had the extra money laying around I would buy myself a ticket and be up, but I’m being effected by the economy (and being a student) so it isn’t exactly feasible for me to do so.
I’m not going to drive myself (deeper) into debt to go watch a football game.
If nothing else I’ll try to stream it through ATDHE on my PS3 so I can still watch it on my TV, if that don’t work, I’ll do it on my laptop.

Dome & PFT & Video
I’ve made one trip to the Dome this season, it’s a six hour drive for me. But it is always worth it. Even though it has bad restrooms (two crappers and the urinal troft) and is hard to walk through because of the narrow hallway (which is always filled with Purple jerseys grabbing a snack or souvenier).
I think we have great and loyal fans, but the stories on PFT are really making us look bad and we can’t blame them. I thought ‘blackout looming’ was a non-story, but they were correct. I agree that they have ignored many reasons for slow ticket sales, just to make us look bad.
On the issue of ticket price, I believe the Vikings set an initial price, but the huge cost is implemented by the TicketMasters of the worlds, so a $30 nosebleed seat could be $100 after fees. Also when the Viking marketing dept has to ask Jared Allen to appear in a video to promote the PLAYOFF game, it is bound to get other fans on the ‘ridicule Minnesota’ bandwagon.
