Official Eagles/Vikings Injury Reports
Alrighty, folks, it's Friday, and you know what that means. . .it means that the last official injury reports have been released by both the Eagles and the Vikings for this Sunday's tilt at the Metrodome. As is the custom over here, we'll take a look at the Eagles' injury report first.
Players that aren't shown on this injury report that are listed as out for Sunday are DE Victor Abiamiri (foot) and G Shawn Andrews (back).
Of the remaining players listed, Samuel and Runyan had no participation in practice today, but I don't think there's any doubt that they'll both be playing this Sunday. Samuel isn't going to be at 100%, however, and that could be something that plays to Minnesota's advantage.
Smith, Westbrook, and Bradley all had limited participation in Friday's practice, and the rest of the players listed on the injury report participated fully. It doesn't appear as though any major pieces for the Eagles are going to miss this weekend's game.
Moving on, here's the Minnesota injury report:
As discussed yesterday, DE Ray Edwards is also out for Minnesota, with Brian Robison starting in his place.
Nice to see Hicks back under the "Probable" section of the list. Hopefully this means that he'll be starting in place of Ryan Cook, particularly in light of all the blitzing that the Eagles are likely to do on Sunday. Bernard Berrian's ankle shouldn't be a problem, either, as it hasn't been the last couple of weeks.
As far as Pat Williams is concerned, the word is coming that he's a game-time decision. To be honest. . .and I don't mean this as a slight to the Eagles. . .if there's a game that we could "afford" to not have Pat Williams for, it's probably this one. The Eagles aren't exactly a "slam the ball up the middle" type of football team, and even though Phat Pat makes plays in the running game regardless of where the ball is going, his absence would probably be less felt in this game than if we were playing a team like Atlanta or Carolina or the Giants. I'll be happy to see him out there if he DOES suit up, but I won't be too surprised if the Vikings rest him and hope that there's a game against the Panthers next weekend that #94's services will be needed for.
That's all for tonight, folks. . .tomorrow's update will probably be a little later in the day, as I've got another funeral detail to go to again tomorrow that will take up a good portion of the day. If something happens that needs to be discussed, be sure to throw up a FanPost or a comment and discuss it right here!

Pat Williams
I couldn’t agree more about Pat Williams. I read that his injury could get worse if he plays. Although the run D suffered a bit while he was out, it was against the #1 and #2 rushing teams in ATL and the NYG. Even though the Giants sat Jacobs, they still played their starting O-Line….
And like you said, the Eagles aren’t a run-happy team. I think they were 22nd in the league…?
Play Pat, but don’t hesitate to pull him if he’s hurting too much.
GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

The Eagles did have a low rank in terms of running but that was not because of the inability to run as much as it was the complete shunning of anything involving handoffs and tosses as if it caused Ebola. I think that if Pat Williams stays out, you’ll see more of the I-formation or a commitment to running up the middle in general. We have the offensive line to create holes because we ran the ball well against the giants and yes the cowboys as well. But I swear, if we spend most of our time running out of the single back formation and the shotgun with 1 back in the backfield, I’m going to strangle myself…

Does Reid get asked?
I have a hard time comprehending not running by choice. Looking at the Eagles run/pass game averages, you’d see that 5 or so more runs would give them better balance. I doubt in any of their games that 5 more runs (5 less passes) would have negatively changed any outcomes (even if all 5 go for no yards). What is Reid’s explanation as to why he is inclined to pass first?

It would be a good game for a 3-4
…if Frazier & Co. have that in their back pockets. One replacement level DT cannot replace Pat Williams, but 2 replacement linebackers would almost replace EJ (and be able to cover more ground).

Good point. This is an almost perfect game for Phat Pat to miss because the Eagles don’t pound the rock as much as they pass and dink & dunk! But if P.Will can get in for some plays, I think it’ll give the defense a confidence boost – the Vikes will definitely need him for any goal-line stands/short yardage scrums! I hope he plays Sunday, albeit limitedly.

The whole key for tomorrow's game can be summed up as. . .
stop Brian Westbrook. Keep him in check and the Philly offense is hardly spectacular. Tomorrow’s game will also mark the return of Hank Baskett to the ’Dome in a playoff game.
