T-Jack is better than McNabb
And I've got the stats to prove it.
Since Jackson took over for Frerotte against Detroit, here are his numbers compared to McNabb's:
Jackson: 64.0% completions, 740 yards, 8 TD, 1 INT, 115.4 QB Rating
McNabb: 62.9% completions, 886 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT, 91.9 QB Rating
Too small of a sample size you say, let's take a look at their season stats:
Jackson: 59.1% completions, 1,056 yards, 9 TD, 2 INT, 95.4 QB Rating
McNabb: 60.4% completions, 3,916 yards, 23 TD, 11 INT, 86.4 QB Rating
Also, if you project T-Jack's numbers out to the same number of attempts as McNabb, it gives him 4,047 yards, 34 TDs and 8 INT, better than McNabb. So, everyone saying that Jackson will cost the Vikings the game today should look at the numbers and realize that McNabb is just as likely to screw things up for Philly.

If you had one series for a shot to get to the big game and needed a quarterback, who’d you choose?
With that said, if you were to make it to that big game, you know McNabb would puke on his shoes and lose, so…!

I don't know if I'd go that far
But I think Jackson is certainly better than 99.9% of America gives him credit for being.

Not yet
Let’s see how he does in his first post season game. I like his mobility, but McNabb has proven it for a lot of years.

You can’t “project” a small sample size over the course of a whole season. It doesn’t work that way in the NFL.
That’s like saying a WR who caught 10 passes in week one is “on pace” for 160 catches. It never works that way.

Are you guys kidding ME?? Jackson is probably the worst starting QB in the NFL. Sorry to burst your bubble. Time for the Vikes to move on.

he definatly isnt the worst (cough... romo)
but what hurts him is inexperience. when he gets it under his belt, the Vikes will be a force.
Who wants to play Leapfrog with Trent?

Seriously, name seven starting QB’s that are worse than TJack. Hard isn’t it! TJack is near the bottom of the barrel. Experience won’t help him either. He simply isn’t that good.

Frerotte, Anderson, Alex Smith, Brett Favre, Trent Edwards (or J.P. Losman, your choice), Kyle Orton, and JaMarcus Russel

Don't forget the Lions
Culpeppper or Orlovsky.
Or how bout them Rams: Berlin or Bulger, no thanks.
Hell, I’d go as far to say that David Garrard is worse, at this point.
Bad argument, Mallers.

I didn’t state the Lions because Kitna is typically the starter, but I suppose Jackson is better than he is too.

Did you say Tavaris Jackson is better than Brett Fucking Favre (that’s his middle name, look it up)? Have you ever seen a football game before?

Did you see his last four games? I highly doubt that Tavaris Jackson, terrible as some people see him, could throw for TWENTY TWO, read that again please. Here, I’ll say it again. TWENTY TWO. Interceptions. In A season. I’m confident that if Jackson had been starting the entire season, he’d have more than a 1 to 1 TD to Int ratio too. Sorry, but Brett Fucking Favre fucking sucks.

You’re right. It will be a struggle for Tavaris Jackson to reach 22 INTs, but I’m confident if your starter gets injured again TJ can chuck that many INTs so long as he stays healthy.

Ferotte isn’t starting…TJack is. Anderson lost his starting job to Quinn. Alex Smith hos his starting job to Hill. Losman isn’t a starter either! Orton is better than TJack, but he does suck. Russell is the next Leaf. That being said, The Vikes need to upgrade the position. Look at the young QB’s that played well this year….Rodgers, Flacco, Ryan. TJack has mor experience than all three combined but couldn’t carry their jocks.

Frerotte started 12 games out of the season. I count that as a starting QB. Shaun Hill isn’t even better than Jackson. The Losman thing was a joke, but he’s still better than Trent Edwards, and there’s no way that Orton is better than Jackson. No way. And no, Jackson does not have more experience combined than Flacco, Ryan, and Rodgers. They have 16 starts each. That’s 48 starts. Jackson has 18. And this isn’t including the playing time Rodgers had before.
But I agree that we need to upgrade the QB position. I think playcalling contributes to how bad Jackson looked this game, but he is very lucky he didn’t have more than 1 interception this game. I don’t know about getting a younger QB though. I think Jackson can end up being a decent option, and for right now we just need a good veteran.

Thats what I’ve been saying! We need a good veteran! If we can’t find one, get someone with a little bit of potential. If you can’t see TJack is average (at best), you’re blind.

I think its just a bit too early to judge the guy. He’s been a starter for two years. Whoo hoo. You don’t just become a good QB overnight in the NFL, regardless what you might think with Matt Ryan. I can practically guarantee he won’t do so well next season.

Someday you can look back and remember this post............ TJack is mediocre at BEST and down right horrible at worst. Open your eyes. He has NO touch on his passes, can't read defenses, and minimal leadership capabilities. Those are facts.
