Eagles/Vikings Second Half Open Thread
Thus far, the Eagles' only touchdown has come from the right hand of Tarvaris Jackson, and the Minnesota defense has done a pretty good job against the Eagles thus far.
On the other side, the Vikings have put together a couple of nice scoring drives, and find themselves trailing by 2 at halftime.
Minnesota has the momentum going into the locker room. . .let's see if they can turn it into something positive.

For real

by Gregor22 on Jan 4, 2009 5:20 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
As far as...
Second half adjustments go, the Vikings are in a great position to build off of their first half. The Eagles without much success offensively, need to find a way to get it to Westbrook and keep McNabb protected.
by LoveHate on Jan 4, 2009 5:20 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
First half thoughts
are that the opening drive will be crucial to keep the generally decent offensive tempo going. Defense needs to continue to pressure McNabb. And for god’s sake Chili give TJax some rollouts to get the pressure off him.

Mistakes
It’s going to be about who makes mistakes in the second half
Philly has been quiet but efficient in that regard
Vikes have one bad pass by T-jack (and a poor punt return hat directly contributed to a FG)
Vikes keep it cool, make no big mistakes, they win
by Skippy the Bush Kangaroo on Jan 4, 2009 5:22 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Tjack need to pump fake. DB are jumping the rec. route
by vikefansd on Jan 4, 2009 5:23 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
The Blitzes need to knock McNabb Down and stop 3rd down conversions.

Never mind, that was Allen
I saw a big white guy that far downfield and just assumed it was Greenway. (-:

Where do the Vikes need to get for Longwell???
by solafide on Jan 4, 2009 6:12 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I believe his career long is 55
They’d have to get to the Philly 38 to give him a shot from that distance.

Damn it
Berrian with a false start. . .inexcusable. WRs should NEVER have anything like that happen.

WOW
Another lucky one for T-Jack. He handed that ball right to Sheldon Brown, and he was kind enough to drop it.

Getting down to crunch time
Not the best time for Kluwe to shank one, either.
Eagles set up with 1st and 10 from their own 29 when we come back.
Eagles 16, Vikings 14, 6:53 left in the game.

As a Norwegian I must say that it’s no wonder that this sport has trouble becoming big in the rest of the world. It is just to much dead time. I love it, but…

Whoever makes a mistake from now on loses this game! Vikes need good field position, a defensive score, or a big pass/run play. We’ll see if anything can happen!!

Ugh
