My Three Suggestions to Improve the Vikings....
1. Find a veteran QB that can manage a game.
2. Hire a new offensive coordinator that has some imagination.
3. Add one more quality receiving threat. We can argue about who that might be, but we need one.
Go ahead and tear me to bits if you like, but these are changes that could bring the Vikes to the Super Bowl in 2010. If you have better suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

I wouldn't worry about getting torn to bits
Most Vikings fans hate Bevel, our quarterback situation, and the general inconsistency that is our passing game.
In AP I trust

lol Yeah, no one is going to tear you to bits. That is exactly what nearly every viking fan is thinking.
It pretty much saved me time in having to make my own post that says...
WE NEED A PASSING GAME!!!
Skol Vikes 4 Life!
Then tear this to pieces
Two words: Brett Favre.
I realize his name is anathema to most Vikings fans. I don’t have that problem since I live on the west coast (even though I’ve rooted for the Vikes all my life). All the Vikings need is someone who can hit a freakin’ target. I think with Favre, the Vikes immediately become the class of the NFC.
Um No thanks
If it was Farve from 3 years ago then yes, but Farve is done. The second half all he seemed to do was throw picks.
Um, did you watch the last half of this season?
Last 5 games for Favre: 2 TD, 9 INT, 1-4 record, 1 main reason that the Jets didn’t make the playoffs. Plus cheering for Favre would be like cheering for the house in blackjack. It’s just not right.

That's true
I’m assuming that was injury related and that he has the arthroscopic bicep surgery suggested by the Jet Doc.
Hopefully
He’ll do us all a favor and just retire. And stay retired. But we know all too well that even if he does retire for good this time, he’ll make it all about him and string along the media for at least a couple months before he makes his announcement. His “aw, shucks” attitude is the biggest crock of shit ever; he has always LOVED all the attention.

did you say you wanted someone who could "hit the freakin' target"?
Brett Favre would be one of the last choices to fulfill that category. Do you realize how many interceptions this guy throws? It’s incredible. I hate how much praise he gets. People think he’s great, but really, he’s not. At all.
I thought we were gonna get his this season...
… that would have been superbowl. =)
Skol Vikes 4 Life!
the areas we need to address
1. New Offensive Coordinator
2. Offensive Right Tackle
3. Full Back
4. Improve the Special Teams Coverage
4. Someone for Winfield to mentor
5. Compitition for/mentor for T-Jack
Will the Real Thor Please Stand Up ... ?
#3 Receiving Threat
Hear me out on this one. Pat White. Quarterback from W. Virginia that will certainly be switching positions. Whether he becomes an NFL running back (doubt it = size) or receiver isn’t clear, but considering today’s game it doesn’t matter much either.
Pat White would give the Vikings a return specialist, speedy deep threat and an option route guy in the slot, and a change of pace/ receiving threat out of the backfield with the ability to throw (read: Wildcat for all you crazies out there). Think David Palmer on speed with hell a juke moves.
He is likely a fourth round guy at this point, but his various talents are sorely missed on the Vikings roster.
Not a bad idea.
I like where your heads at. I think the Vikings need to draft a few special teamers in the later rounds for coverage teams as well.
That’s where most defensive guys earn their stripes: special teams. Of course, the Vikings don’t need a lot of defensive help, but it may be worth it to invest a few late round picks to help shore up our dreadful special teams.

Good Idea….and of course if you bring him in with the idea he’s gonna get converted (and you tell him) then it doesnt hurt to have him open compete for the QB spot with Tjack and whoever we get out of free agency. All for a 3rd or fourth round pick.
I mean, if i was drafted in the 3rd round as a QB and told “you get to compete for QB, but if you dont make it, dont worry you’re gonna just get converted to another position”….i’d be fine with it cuz at least I was given a chance.
This just in....
I’ve just read that Matt Hasselbeck’s name was thrown into the mix…….sounds like a 2nd round pick could bring him to MN…..I think that’s a better than average pick up
He’s 33 but he’s a heck of an insurance policy and is still better than 1/3 of the QB’s in the league
Where did you read that?
Because that’s a name I had not even thought of.
I actually like it a lot.

Who would replace him?
Seneca Wallace and Charlie Frye don’t strike fear in my heart.
Norm Green still sucks!
New Coach...
New philosophies. It’s possible.
