Here's an interesting article
ESPN's Kevin Seifert has an interesting article about comparing the 1998 Vikings to this years Vikings. There are certainly some similarities I think, but, like the article says, the '98 teams offense was much more explosive than this years team. I also agree that this years team is more well-rounded, however. I think our defense is better this year than in '98. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

A bit early for a '98 comparison i.m.o.
the ‘09 Vikes clearly have enough talented players to go to the Super Bowl. I wonder if the coaching is going to develop effective game plans and schemes over the next three weeks to use this team’s talent. We shall see

Agreed...way too early
We have had an easy schedule (4th easiest if I recall correctly) but you can only knock down who they line up.
Offensively, I like the consistent scoring and the production in the redzone. It is here that I see the biggest difference. Defensively, I am concerned with the yardage allowed although most of it has come late in games that we had in hand so I cannot get a good measurement on that.

way to early
I like this team alot but we haven’t played anyone yet. The Rams,Browns,& Lions will all be picking in the top five picks in next years draft. The 49ers & the Pack are they even top ten teams? We played them at home and were lucky to beat the 49ers. We may be the best team in the NFC North but we still have alot to prove. I do believe this team will improve and hopefully we will be playing our best at the end when it counts. The Ravens,Steelers, & GB back at Lamblow should give us a gage on where we are. If we win 2 of these 3 or better then we know we are for real. If not then more work needs to be done.

One thing is for sure tho
The Vikings defense in 98 doesn’t even compare to the 09 even though it is early

Slow down, let's get through the next 3 games, but with that said...
If we had this defense and the 98 offense, the Vikes would be #1 in all power rankings right now. Now let me go cry about taking a knee with the most powerful offense in NFL history (at the time).

Too early
Let’s see how well the Vikes play against a few quality opponents before hailing them as the greatest team to ever wear purple.
