Blowout games aren’t a lot of fun. Look at the 2nd quarter-boring. Little tension keeps things interesting.

Unreal. Could have put ‘em away. But good teams come back and play hard….I give the Ravens props. That’s how you separate the good teams from the bad. Our D will rebound, no doubt. Good game by our offense….thank God we put up as many points as we did! Good game Ravens.

Man, oh man. If #4 wasn’t having a career year so far…that game was utter lunacy! Sidney Rice has a career game and Peterson scorches the Ravens for a century plus, and the Ravens voodoo curse strikes again. I actually feel for the Ravens, it’s almost incomprehensible how they are losing! They do everything right, but somehow one play or one drive goes in the shitter. Boy, the next team the Ravens face had better be ready for a war, Baltimore is going to be in a rather unpleasant mood. I read a rumor Ray Lewis plans on grabbing the field goal kicker, stuffing him in a garbage can and throwing him down the steepest hill he can find (just kidding).

I absolutely abhor brad childress...
this ‘exert our will’ bullshit has got to go. i know we have dominant players on our team, but that doesn’t mean we can’t play into what the defense gives us. we have no killer instinct, we let teams stick around way too long. this team needs to be untethered to be able to put their foot on the throat of the other team.
up by 14 points, and start playing soft coverage and running a horribly predictable offense. i don’t think we exploited their ABYSMAL secondary nearly enough when we actually needed to.
after rices big catch towards the end of the game, we should have thrown that fucker right into the endzone for a td. CHILLY, NEXT TIME PUT THE GOD DAMNED GAME AWAY. asshole

When you go back and forth the whole first half...
after being up 14-0 right out of the gate, put more points on the board!!! You aren’t playing the St. Louis Rams this week.. It happens to be a real. good. team. period. If you have so much momentum in the first quarter and most of the second, why not just keep swinging for the fences and burying them early? That’s the true meaning of exerting your will on somebody- actually TRY to score every time you have the ball.

put the game away
Four field goals in the 2nd half, are you kidding me. If even one of them is a TD the game is over. The best the Ravens could have hoped for then is a Hail Mary. The percentage of a hail mary is a whole lot less than a 44 yard field goal. I hate field goals. I need to do a study and find out the percentages of going for it VS. kicking the field goal. I’m not talking about 40 yards or longer FG’s. or when its 4th and more than 5 yards. If your inside the 15 yard line and you have 4th and less than five yards for a 1st down or TD. go for it. If you converted say once every 3 times you would still be just as well off and if you converted half the time you would be way ahead. Say you kick your 3 field goals you got 9 points. I convert just 1 of 3 chances for 7 points. 1st of all their is no gtd that you will make all the kicks but the kicks I’m talking about are 30 to 35 yarders so you probably get your 9. So you have kicked off to me 3 times my starting field postion is going to average 25-30 yard line maybe even a little better than that. The 2 times I came up empty your inside your own ten yard line to start. If I hold you to a 3 and out 1 of those 2 times I’m probably going to get pretty darn good field postion, so If move the ball 30-35 yards I can take a shot at a field goal myself. The point I’m trying to make is that it is hard to field goal a team to death and leaving a team in bad field postion if you don’t convert can be an advantage for your defense also.
I’m surprised teams don’t do this more often.

I hate to say it but...
Unless Chilly gets his head out of his ass and learns that when you have a man down you step on his throat and go for the kill, we will not bring home the trophy at the end of the year. Your D is getting killed so you start calling very conservative running plays and kick a field goal, while leaving Flacco enough time to carve up your D on yet another drive and line up for the potential game winning field goal????
We were throwing the ball at will on previous drives…Why start running the ball and settle for a field goal? You lost your Pro Bowl corner to injury and his replacement should not have even been active after that performance, and you play conservative? Throw the ball down field which was working all bloody day and put the game away!!!
If McKinne or Loadhold are listening, please go slap Chilly up side the head with your big paws and tell him to wake the fuck up!!!

Will take the win
but I am very concerned about the abillity to close teams out at home, same kind of thing kinda happend against Green Bay.
I would have liked some more agressive play calling when the Vikes had it the last time. Giving the Ravens the ball with 2 minutes and a FG wins it almost concedes the loss with the way our D was playing.
But were 6-0 even though I am not as excited as I should be.

Did Chilly think Favre was going to throw an int on that last series? Or let himself take a sack? He’s been eminently trustworthy this year and has come through in the clutch every single time. They make a first down on that last drive and the freaking game is over, over, over.
He honestly trusted the D more at that point than he trusted the offense?
No turnovers again; that’s pretty amazing in and of itself.
Oh yeah, exhale.

Well Boys
We did enough to win this game. Proves how essential Winfield is in Pass coverage (Paymah is horrible) and run defense (Rice gashed us. Normall where Winfield would line up). Great drive down the field to get that last field goal. Chilly shud have gone for that first down in the end zone, that way we wudda controlled the end, not give i back to Flacco when the Vikings defense played DB like it was their first game. Feels great to be 6-0, we need to sort out the DB situation and hope Winfield isnt hurt.
PS: We got, what seems now, a great start to the game to be able to win it. Though I am concerned about our 2 minute defense. Cover 2 ISNT DOING IT, the middle of the field is wide open.

Pitch a Tent
The middle was so wide open I thought a good Minnesota family would pitch their tent there all afternoon. To cold to camp outside.

I'm pitching a tent now that the Vikes are 6-0!

Prevent Winning
The Prevent Defense plain in many cases ’prevents winning.
When we try to run the clock, why don’t we throw a short high% pass for 5 -6 yards instead of trying to run over Ray Lewis and his friends. You still keep the clock moving and maybe you can get a 1 st down once in awhile. This is not Rocket Science, is it?

Because we have the best RB in the league and, as he showed, if you run him enough he’ll break out huge gains. If only he could have scored on that second half scamper.

OK
I know we din’t play the best we could on defense. That is go to show you how much we need the leadership of NO. 26. he is one of the leader and a shut down conner too. Today we miss him. our backup need to step up.

Coach Zorn stripped of play calling duties, how about the Vikings doing the same for Childress?
Sundays game with the Baltimore Ravens playing the Minnesota Vikings, was a disaster that deserved to happen but did not. Vikings came out hot, both on Offense and Defense, then the Vikings game went in the toilet. It was the personnel calling the plays on the sideline, that were calling plays not to lose, instead of trying to win. I do not know where the Defenseive Call Player’s head was, in the 2nd half, but it was not in the game.
5 second left in the game, and the Raven’s Place Kicker muffs the field goal kick that would have given the Ravens the win, instead it gave the Vikings a victory that they did not deserve.
Related issue the Washington Redskins front office has stripped Coach Zorn, of all play calling duties after losing to the Kansas City Chief, on Sunday! I wish someone in the Vikings front office would take Coach Clildress’s play calling duties….he may be a great head coach, but he cannot call his way out of a brown paper bag…..
The Viking Players and the Viking Fans, deserve better than what happened today!

Chilly is the reason the Vikes have the team and record they do.
There 6-0 and would be 5-1 or 4-2 at the worst. I would have liked it if they would have thrown at the end too, but running the clock down and getting the Ravens to use their last TO wasent a terrible idea.

Going to hit Chilly with my car.
Seriously when your team is kicking it in you let the reigns go and watch! There is no reason that Rice and Shank shouldn’t have kept getting the ball all first half. Mutiliate them with the pass and then when they start REALLY respecting it hammer them with the run. Shank , Rice and Favre all had the mo going in the beginning of the first half. Stopping that momentum almost cost us the game.
The idea is, you stop their momentum, not ours.
