Let's look at the 'big picture' after 6 games for the Vikings:
#4 - Averaging under 30 throws per game - 12 TDs, 2 INTs. 69.7% compl, 109.5 QBR
#28 - Averaging about 20 touches per game - 5.2 ypc, 6 TDs. 104 YPG
Coming into the season, this is what we were looking for - limited touches by both of our 'big' playmakers to keep them healthy for the long season... and we have a 6-0 record to boot.
The team has scored 189 points! that's 31.5 per game!!
#2 in the NFL behind the 'vaunted' Saints (192/38.4) (not 32)
WOW!
Receiving: #2 NFL team receiving offense!
Rice - #9 in the league with 23 rec for 409 yds, 68.2 ypg, 2 TDs
Harvin - 20 catches, 243yds, 2 TDs
Berrian - 22 catches, 234yds, 2 TDs
Shiancoe - 17 catches, 164 yds, 5!! TDs. (clutch RZ work!)
Others:
Ryan Longwell - #2 in points scored in the NFL at the moment with 9.2 ppg
This team is putting it together, the offense is clicking and putting points on the board with BALANCE.
Our Defensive stats are garbage, and much of our woes there seem to be coming late in the game.
It looks to me like our coaches may be sticking to a 'plan' on the QB and RB touches in order to keep those weapons healthy for the late season... there's a 'tickle' in my brain that even tells me we'd give up a loss to stick to that plan - we can put up 30+ points with 50-60 plays and if you can beat us with that, well, OK.
Hell cooled by another 33 degrees this week.
GO VIKES!!
