New Viking Fan here!

I am sure the Vikings are seeing a lot of new fans lately. Considering you'r team is 6-0, has arguably the best QB of all time, the best RB in the NFL, one of the best defenses in the NFL, and is a huge favorite to go to the Super Bowl.

I am not a band wagoner, I am not a Brett Favre homer, I enjoy watching AP but I am not upset if he plays poorly. When Fred Taylor went to the Jags, I became a Jags fan. Fred Taylor was one of my favorite Gators, and I knew he was going to be great in the NFL. As you might have noticed my avatar, I now like the Vikings becuase they drafted Percy Harvin. When I found out Percy was going to Minn, with all the weapons running the ball already, I couldnt believe of all the possibilities. Also the Brads are finding ways to get him the ball any way they can. I havent baught my Vikings #12 jersey yet, but I have plans on it. I might be a life long fan if you draft Tim Tebow...haha jk I know Tim isnt high on many teams draft list as a QB.

Anyone else follow a team because a player on the team? Besides Brett Favre...

Go Vikings!

ps: as long as its not against the dolphins or Bucs.

Does that mean

I should cheer for Ted Thompson because that’s my last name too?

Actually, I do kind of cheer for Ted Thompson now…thanks for the QB! :)

Change your picture to harvin in a vikes uni,

and you’ll officially be a viking fan!
Oh wait, you still need to take the oath I just made up
Do you (insert name) accept the Vikings as your #1 team?
Do you accept Brett Favre as QB?
Do you believe in our Purple Savior/RB?
Do you reject the Packers, and all their empty promises?
Do you believe that 5th time is the charm?
If so, you can join out purple clad alliance

haha

1. sorry my number one team will always be the Phins, when I was a kid I liked them. What sealed me as a life long Dolphin was I sent out a bunch of fan letters to…Ken Griffey Jr., Shaq, Dan Marino, Nolan Ryan, Hardy Nickerson. I got one letter back, that contained a 8×10 autographed photo of Dan the Man, thanking me for being a fan.

The rest I am ok with, I love watching AP, I still have my Barry Sanders jersey…I am from Tampa Bay so I have always hated the Packers, theres a lot of snow birds that claim the pack in TB.
dont worry if you guys win the SB, I wont be walking around bragging about how I been waiting all these years. haha

haha that's fine

I always wanted to come up with some sort of oath

your oath needs to contain something about enjoying the wins but always tempering excitement with the knowledge that we could have lost… it’s a Tragic Norse Bi-Polar condition. Yay!, we suck.

I BELIEVE...

Yep!

Always think of the infinite possible ways that we could have lost after a big win ;)

good

you already have one of the biggest attributes to being a viking fan: hating those ugly, disgusting cheesehead packers.
welcome aboard!

Sorry, Super Bowl VII rule

You can’t be both a Dolphins fan AND a Vikings fan, grudges run deep.

Welcome

And just remember to play nice. Good natured trash talk is fine but if you go trolling on other teams sites, I suspect the head writers will ban you here too. Enjoy the Purple Pride!

REVENGE4FAVRE........................

says welcome aboard.

I too, would love to see Tim Tebow on the Vikings next year.

Tebow is a great leader, just like the Greatest QB in NFL History (Favre).

Somebody check his temperature. I think he is sick.

Be prepared for heartache.

Although, you should know about that being a Dolphins fan….

Tongue in cheek

Few things to know becoming a Vikings fan…

(1) VIKINGS FAN MANTRA: THIS is the YEAR (oh how many years have I said this to no avail)….

(2) REGARDING 2009/10 SEASON: THIS is the YEAR (maybe?)!!!!!!!!!

(3) SETBACKS: Steel yourself….(No pun intended for the upcoming weekend matchup, ok?)….they most surely will come, even this year (Have to look at the long term picture…in my case almost 40 years of hope to date!)

(4) BOTTOM LINE: NEVER say never as a fan…you never know (especially THIS year, when we could just as easily be 4-2 or worse 3-3 right now, but are 6-0!!)….Living this means

      (a) never leaving the game early if you are lucky enough to be at a game,
      (b) throwing the TV out the window, or in my case,
© the laptop against the wall while screaming at the top of your lungs in anger/disgust….

SKOL!

I would rather be IN the Arena than watching from the stands...That is my life!
