Wanted it but didn't need it...

Today was a big game; it was our time to prove who we're made of. Sadly... we showed we can't chase down a turnover =P but looking forward, this wasn't our BIG game.

Star-divide

Looking forward to next week. The Packers. Enough said already. Any division game is a must win game. Tension is gonna be high, and after today, moral is a little down. Losing to the defending Superbowl Champions is one thing but Brett Favre playing against the Pack for the first time and we're sitting at 6-1, them 4-2; Its what we said at the start of the season... The biggest game of the year.

Despite whatever the bad news bears try to accomplish, I put my faith into this Single game. I goes as far as saying "this if for the division." We still have the bears twice, the cards, the bengals, and the G-men. We can not afford to lose to Pack.

Thankfully, we got that loss outta the way. We know how it feels. It hurts. Tender round the edges... But We have to bring the Biggest 'A' game we have. 4 complete Quarters. It's hard to say if we've played our perfect game. It would have been last week but the 21 points in the 4th was a bit of melt down.

We gotta get at em. We have to play amazing well, and we need the Silver Fox to lead the way.

Honestly

This is probably the hardest game on the vikings schedule. They had many penalties that were questionable, or complete brain farts. Yet, they should have won that game. I would have really loved to see them win that game, but I have more faith in this team than coming in to this game. I think there is good things in the future for the vikings.

Jared Allen is to football what Jason Voorhees is to Lake Crystal.
Percy Harvin is Devin Hester, except someone very smart decided to teach him how to catch and run routes.

I think if anything, this game actually built faith in me, because without those refs. We would have been hung in there for an incredibly close game and could have won.

Vikings played better... should have been a W

Did the top rated Steeler D stop Favre without Berrian? No
Did a crappy Viking Secondary stop Big Ben? Yes, except for the 1 drive before the half
Did the Refs call a crappy game that greatly favored the Steelers? Hell Yes

This game shows the Vikings can beat any team. It is a very impressive loss considering the stupid calls by the Refs, and Berrian being sidelined. Sidney Rice looks very good – he just needs to get faster and reach that endzone!

Chester Taylor needs to apologize to the team, shed some tears, and move on… we all know he’s better than that. We now know the Vikings are for real. No matter how the media make it look like Favre lost this game… there’s no way he did.

That was a bad pass by Favre, but not terrible

What resulted was just a bad tip that landed in a LB’s lap. I pretty much agree with everything else. If anyone actually watched the game without a bias, it was obvious who the better team was.

Taylor catches that pass 99.9% of the time. The chances the tipped pass lands in the lap of a defender is slim. scoring on int or fumble returns is also rare.

You can’t turn the ball over. You can’t turn it over in the RZ. You definately can’t allow an opponent to score on a turnover.

If it were poker, this would be a “bad beat.” I just hope they learned something about themselves.

Good analogy.

They caught the case ace on the river. Not much you can do about it.

Exactly

That wasn’t Favre’s fault (do you have any idea how much I hate finding myself in a position where I’m defending Favre?), but that being said, in this case I don’t have a huge issue with CT either. It happens, and usually he’s The Man in that situation.

The problem was that all our receivers (except for Rice) chose to pick that game to have butter-fingers, not just CT.

Yes....

My thoughts almost exactly…..positives from today are that the media attention now goes elsewhere ref undefeated….we know areas for improvement (outside of ref bad calls), and we are one BAD (meaning good) team….and will be a force to be reckoned with all the way up to and throughout the playoffs….We may indeed see the Steelers again in the SB – repeat of ‘75….with the SB loss from back then and this one we should have won…..well let’s just say Favre and crew will DEFINITELY be motivated….and ready to execute…..

I would rather be IN the Arena than watching from the stands...That is my life!

Gotta

send a undeniable statement playing GB next week- a dominant win will do wonders fo this team. Though i don’t expect to hear great praise from the press til the Lombardi trophy sits in the Vikes’ collective hands.

I rarely rip on Favre, but he should be tarred-n-feathered for that PATHETIC attempt at bringing down a fat, slow lineman. How longed has he played football for God’s sakes? Good Lord, all he had to do was hang on to one of his arms while he got help.

Fumbles happen, but ther eis NO EXCUSE for laying down and curling up into the fetal position like Favre did. He needs to hear about it, at the very least. My Dad could have made that play and he’s 72.

He didn’t lay down on that play and you obviously didn’t watch the play more than once.

First, it was a linebacker. Notice how his number was in the 50’s?

Second, he was trying to trip up the blocker that he had in front of said linebacker to open it up for someone to actually get to the ball carrier. He has no delusions of his old ass being able to fight off a blocker and tackle a linebacker, so he did the smart thing and try to take out the blocker. He just missed.

+4

He was trying to take out the blocker (IMHO) as I saw it also. As bad as both of those turnovers were, I appreciate and admire the hussle our offensive guys did giving chase.

Did u see the human tree (Loadholt) chasing all the way to the endzone on the second TO.

I’m not happy with the loss by any means, but my Vikings showed me heart today, missing our #1 CB and our #1 receiver goes down with a pulled hammie early in the game we still outplayed the Steelers.

And thank you P Harvin for playing through lots of pain and putting us in the position to possibly win the game, because everytime I waw you get hit or fall on the ground it seemed like it was on your shoulder.

Good thing the bye is coming up.

Percy, my boy, you need to tell Favre to get the ball to you a split second earlier.

That Favre was even there is a miracle!!

Where the other 10 Vikings players? Favre’s the old slow QB and he made it that far downfield to make the attempt, where was everyone else? There had to be at least 2 other unopposed Vikings back there somewhere.

Ripping on Favre for this just makes no sense.

Hell I was begging him not to hit him

We have a lot of speed on O, someone should have gotten to that guy. I will give it to the Steelers D they blocked like pro bowlers for both of those TD’s.

As for Loadholt go back to the game tape he was actually pacing both of those linebackers all the way to the endzone, just couldn’t get in.

Wow
