PITTSBURGH - The Vikings were upset over a tripping call on tight end Jeff Dugan that negated a 10-yard touchdown catch by Sidney Rice in the fourth quarter of their 27-17 loss at Heinz Field.
Dugan cut-blocked linebacker James Harrison at the line during a drive that ended on LaMarr Woodley's 77-yard fumble return for a touchdown. "I just cut him," said a frustrated Dugan. "I don't know what [the official] saw."
Said Vikings coach Brad Childress: "I didn't like it because Jeff Dugan is sitting there with a knot on his thigh on a tripping penalty. We blocked 8-7 double-snag fullback flat a thousand times and cut the defensive end just like we cut the defensive end here."
Asked if he got an explanation from the officials, Childress said: "I did not."

I will continue to say
that the ref who threw the flag should be reprimanded and retrained. The fans should question the intentions of anyone that validates that call.

Dugan...
did you notice how Dugan got back at the refs the next play on Harvin’s kick off return. He absolutely laid the ref out when he easily could have gotten out of the ref’s way. The ref was on his back for at least five minutes. That is how the players should continue to respond to bad calls, this will ultimately force the refs to make better calls in order to protect their own safety. lol.

That was not a retribution hit.
Dugan was watching Percy to see where he needed a block, and when turned around the ref was just in a bad position.

No Shame
Tough game, Horrible call. You would think that the ref could have corrected the call with instant replay. Listen Refs makes mistakes. Any play resulting in a score that has a penalty attached to it should be able to be challenged. Sometimes what looks like holding from one angle may not be at all. TD’s get called back every week. Why can’t it be reviewed if there is a flag on the play. They said Rice’s great catch wasn’t a catch.
Replay showed it was. They said Dugan tripped a player, replay showed it wasn’t.
If your going to use replay then use it. I realize you can’t use it on every play but if the play results in a score can’t you a least confirm the flag.

Dugan
That was a game changer, the rest of what happened is moot. It took away 7 and altered the rest of the game.
What if,,,, we didn"t have a red flag to throw in re: to the spectacular sideline catch to Rice????
Yea, it would look like a dam Fix job.
