Really experts?

ONE LOSS in a game we should have won. And suddenly every expert in football land is ready to pick the Packers in this weeks game. I think 6-1 speaks for itself. Favre already proved himself against the Packers, and he's ready to do it again. This is just going to make the Vikings more hungry for this win. Rodgers will find himself on his back all day, throwing another interception and being sacked 3 times by Jared Allen. Have fun Packers. You have a good team, no doubt. But Favre and the Vikings are ready to take it to the next level in the latter half of the season. Predictions? Mine. Vikings 31-17

Screw the experts!

we know what kind of team we have. We have a very solid team. This is the first time in years, that when I watch our vikes, I feel confident that we can win every game. I mean, when we’re behind in games I truly feel like we can still pull it off. I have a feeling that A.D. is ready to bust out a big game this week, 150 yds. with a couple of touchdowns! Skol Vikes!!!

Haha

Can you really get mad about someone predicting us to win? Keep in mind we did lose by 7, and had 3 turnovers inside your territory. We were also without our starting SS and it showed. We have made some improvements since then, and have Bigby back. You guys are likely going to be without Winfield, and have an uneffective Berrian (if he plays). And it’s at Lambeau.

Your 6-1, but you could just as easily be 4-3. Now that’s not to take away from you guys, because good teams find ways to win but you haven’t looked nearly as dominant as that record would indicate. I do think though that you guys played your best game this past Sunday, which isn’t good news for us.

I expect it to be another close game. I personally think your crazy if you think you guys are going to be win by 2 TDs but we all are entitled to our own opinion. Rodgers managed to throw 385 yards last game despite being sacked 8 times and hurried nearly every play. We have a rookie who has played at LT the past two weeks and he has looked SO much better then Colledge which is good for is. And I’m not trying to imply he is going to shut down Allen, because he likely won’t but I don’t he’ll give up 4 sacks to him like last game.

I’m also very interested to see our pass defense vs. Favre this game. Having Martin playing at SS against you guys week 4 was a disaster. Bigby actually knows the 3-4 system (Martin hardly did), and talent wise he is far superior to Martin. I think Bigby is going to make a huge difference, but that could very likely be my bias speaking haha.

I guess I would predict 31-27 us, but like I pointed out above I’m biased :).

4.5 sacks

But who’s counting?

by Figgs on Oct 29, 2009 12:19 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Eh...

I would like to suggest that we HAVE been as dominant as our record indicates. You can say we lost close games, but that was due to late comebacks as the Vikings put it in prevent defense and “run” the clock mode (Packers I, Baltimore, Rams (not really a close game but lots of yards in the air), to name a few). Hopefully we learned our lesson and will stop that nasty trend.

I don’t take any game for granted, I feel like we could just as easily lose as we could win this one. I know the Packers are a good football team.

Does it look like he cares if everything is perfect in his posts?

No.

Does it look like he cares if people point out his mistakes, probably not.

That said, in the third paragraph you typed “good for is” instead of “good for us”.

Wasn’t expecting an apology.

I was being ironic.

This is the internet. You can have conversations with other sports fans while sitting in your dirty underpants while picking your nose. You should be allowed as well to ignore proper syntax and spelling so long as it is relatively easy to read and comprehend.

Unlike people who have never heard of paragraphs.

I think you might feel your team is better then they really are…

But there were no excuses made. Just stating that I think our pass defense will be better now with our starting SS back.

I don’t know what “record” your team is.

But what I know (and I’ve said this before) that you’ve beaten the Rams, Lions, Browns, and Bears. And Cutler through 4 INT’s on your 6 point Bears win.

by dsludo on Oct 30, 2009 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Pretty sure

Everyone thinks their team is better than it is. Hope and optimism my friend. I will say this though I truly think Minnesota is a beter team than Green Bay. But anything can happen on Sunday.

A Viking has to be convinced that players can change

Otherwise, you’re going out in the first or second round of the playoffs with Favre

by Danwood on Oct 30, 2009 6:31 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Close Games......

it seems that all of the games between us are close, that’s why it’s such a great rivalry. As far as playing in Lambeau goes, I really don’t think that it matters much. I don’t think teams are fearful of Lambeau like they used to be, because ever since the falcons won there in the playoffs, it seems that the “Lambeau Magic” is gone. Vikes 28-21. Yes, I am biased too.

by PurpleCrush on Oct 29, 2009 12:19 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Favre is not losing this game. No way. Sorry.

This team racked up some major yards against the best defence in the league and basically shut down Pittsburgh’s offence.

Coming off a loss, there’s no way the Vikes are losing this game.

by Freddyd on Oct 29, 2009 12:20 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Yards are

overrated. Our D really tightens up in the red zone. Vikes 35 Pack 17

by KC612 on Oct 29, 2009 1:34 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Really?

Because in all honesty I see a good ’’old’’ fashioned beat down in Lambeau. It is going to be fugly. We will road grate the Pack by at least 2 scores. Time to put this mediocre Packer’s team in the dust. They have lost to any decent team they have played, and SHOULD have lost the season opener at home to a very average Bears team that really didn’t want to win. Since then they have beaten the Rams, Browns, and Lions. Ooooh! So what you put up big numbers on powder puffs. The Vikings are coming to your house to rape and pillage. You will know this in a few short days.

CLOSE GAME ON THE ROAD

I’m think the Vikes will win for a couple of reasons. I don’t discount that the Pack is getting better and they are at home. Here’s why.

The Vikings starting QB has only been with the team 8 weeks. No training camp, no experience with the receivers. Getting better every game.

We just played the best 3-4 defense in the league. We did move the ball and had a chance to win on the road.

The passing game now established will improve the run for the rest of the year.

The Pack is also banged up and still have no answer for Vikes pass rush.

Vikes 24- GB 17

by lifelongvike on Oct 29, 2009 2:45 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

They have you slated to win mostly becuase of Lambeau

Honestly, if you remember we were in a serious prevent (from winning) defense and offense when we hit the 4th quarter. The pack is a good team and I would be lying if I didn’t say I was nervous about this game. Rodgers is huge and I can only hope we roll out the same secondary that stumped Big Ben on him. As for your improved secondary I’m hoping we keep the passes short and in control and play a possession game against you. I still think we’ll win, but it will be tighter than people here want to think about. 27-24 Vikes come home smiling.

Bigger quesion is will they boo or cheer Brett when he hits the field. Wonder what the odds are on that in Vegas.

by Grime on Oct 29, 2009 2:54 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Cheedar Cheer

Green Bay Fans are far too principled to boo Favre and his hallowed heroic position in the Lambeau pantheon. Unlike many of the Hube Dome jerk offs that will razz the Purple for the and slightest of imperfections. I swear I want to tear their tongues out and throw their dumb asses out into the street…

by PurpleSoul on Oct 29, 2009 3:32 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Umm...what?

You think Favre really won’t be booed as he walks back onto Lambeau as a Viking? Or was that whole post sarcasm?

Who are you talking to?

They have who slated to win?

by KC612 on Oct 29, 2009 3:25 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

That's Vegas

Money talks. The rest is hot air. If y’all are so sure the Vikes are going to win, go bet. The odds will then change, but only if there are enough of you.

Every game is a crap shoot (except maybe the Rams game; ahem). Who knows how Paymah will play? or Rodgers? Or Berrian? Or Tyrell? Or Lang? Or Sullivan (remember him?)? Will AP break a long one or fumble at a key moment? Will Greenway blow coverages or get another pick? Will Pat Williams look big or old? Will Harvin play? Anyone who thinks they can predict how Sapp will play is delusional.

There are so many variables, with outcomes that are ALL very possible, leading to contradictory outcomes. Get real. Sit back and enjoy the drama. It is drama precisely BECAUSE it defies rational prediction. That’s what makes it fun.

Experts what experts

First we all here watch ESPN,NFL network FOX, CBS yada yada yada, The “experts” are no better than the real fans of the NFL the people that actually pay to watch the game, Now this is going to be a good game packers or vikings fans it will be a good game. If the vikes lose this game i can already see the headlines for next week on ESPN “is farve slowing down” “has the magic ran out” it will be over analysised just like the game has been, let them play the game i do agree its a bigger game for the vikes they have to win to keep the lead in the North the packers can go in there a lil more at ease because if they lose they will just say that the pack can make the room up before the end of the year vikings win in a shootout 31-28 peterson will be more of a factor than farve

This is probably going to go on for a while

I figure, we’ll keep hearing it until after we win in February, and even after that, there’ll be plenty of nay-sayers coming up with weird explanations for the unexpected Viking victory.

It’s up to the guys in Purple to shut the critics up by the only method that’s guaranteed to have any effect at all; winning.
