Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

All About Adrian

Don't get me wrong, Purple Jesus is the best Player in the NFL.  You could even argue that Adrian is the best in Vikings history.  But the other day i was looking at some tapes of him in his rookie season then watched some from this season,  is it me or does it seem that he has lost a step since his rookies year.  Some of the runs he made, he just out ran the defenders by a mile.  But now a days it seems like that he is getting chased down from behind.  Is it that or are defensive backs just getting faster. Leave some comments, I'm interested in what you think.

It’s that they are taking a different angle when trying to tackle him.

When you see him run, he his deceptively fast. When you are trying to close on a runner, you generally take a route that will get you there the fastest. When you are up against AP, you need to take a different angle to get to him.

It is similar to how Hester was completely dominant for a while on kick returns, and then teams adjusted to his speed and he had a drop-off.

Now that they have film on him, they have a better idea as to how to get to him. It is pretty standard for players to have this kind of semi-decline after they burst into the league.

Expect the same for Percy. They are going to stop treating him like a WR and start treating him like a running back when he gets the ball to stop him from getting YAC.

Moss

Same thing happened to Moss afte his rookie year.

Check out Peterson’s burst to the endzone against the Lions in game 2, and you will see his speed — he is as fast as ever.

Totally agree Bjorno

The defenders have learned that they have to take a wider angle on him. This still allows him to run a 40 yard rush that another rusher may only run for 30.

The key is head movement!

If you watch Harvin run his head does not move(much like a sprinter in track)
now watch a Peterson run and you will see all kinds of head movement thus its
not as smooth looking as Percys but it is very fast.

Why Do People Question The Vikings' Status?

by UnBannedVikingholic on Oct 30, 2009 11:32 PM CDT reply actions

O-Line is less than helpful most of the time

AP gets the ball, and more often than not, he then proceeds to run directly into the back of a Viking offensive lineman. He either bounces around immediately, or he waits a moment for a gap to appear and in that moment, the opposition sees him, keys on him, and shuts him down.

Wash, rinse, repeat stupidly.

If, instead of finding a lineman’s back in front of him, he finds a gap, an open lane, why then AP is about to storm forward at least 5-10 yards and maybe bust loose for more.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
